ago. 1984. Boy, do I feel *OLD*! I started my first paper journal in
1984, so I've been keeping a diary for 20 years! AAA.

evile [13:06]: I'm doing better than many of my conteporaries. Sweetie &
I ran into a couple of people I knew from the bookstop days
and...wow. I'm lookin GOOD.

SkyeDS [13:07]: but I know it's all a matter of subjective
perspective.

sweet. (although I ought to)
evile [13:08]: being fat, I can do stuff about. being old, not so
much. But the sunscreen daily has helped. The woman of the couple is
2 yrs younger than me and had crows feet like you wouldn't believe.
SkyeDS [13:08]: I would like very much to retain a good figure as
well as you have.
evile [13:08]: that's genetics, I think. big gals with hourglass
figures on both sides.
SkyeDS [13:10]: I need to put more work into it.

evile [13:11]: I'm kind of disappointed that Monday Tennis got co-
opted into Monday Crafts. I love seeing my friends, but I'd like to
get some exercise, too.
SkyeDS [13:11]: Kelly is going to give me a minitramp for Xmas :)
SkyeDS [13:12]: maybe a 20 - 30 minute walk could be incorporated
into the beginning of craft night
evile [13:12]: there's a thought. Meg and Terri are both mobility
impaired, though, so they wouldn't be able to walk.
SkyeDS [13:14]: suppose craft night had two start times. one for
those who want to walk, and one for everyone else afterward.
evile [13:14]: hm. I'll run it past folks. We are kind of decided
that whoever hosts is the one who gets to make the rules.
SkyeDS [13:15]: all ya can do is make the suggestion, if they like it
good, if they don't, no b ig :)

out if they'll be there, and ask, hey, wanna show up early and go

I asked him what his hourly rate was to teach me how to make maille.
evile [13:37]: turns out he does not charge to teach.
SkyeDS [13:37]: I had a whole list of projects I was going to pay for
his help with
SkyeDS [13:37]: so he'll teach you but he won't accept $
SkyeDS [13:37]: ?
SkyeDS [13:38]: he was wearing very pretty maille Sun
evile [13:38]: *shrug* And knowing he needs $, I would not want to
take time from him (that he could be using to make things for paying
customers) without reimbursing him in some way.
evile [13:39]: I guess if we are ever at the same craft nite, I will
take him up on it, but I won't feel great about it.
SkyeDS [13:39]: you could pay him to make you a piece and ask him to
let you watch
SkyeDS [13:39]: if you learn vicariously that is
evile [13:39]: I've watched him and Robbie and Goofy make maille, and
I don't know how to do it yet...so I don't think that will work.
SkyeDS [13:40]: if he won't take $ maybe he'll accept other
necessities.
evile [13:40]: I could just give him the materials and picture and
say 'here, make this'...but I'd rather create one more 'win' by
adding some knowledge to my own brain, AND paying him, AND getting
the necklace I want.
SkyeDS [13:40]: see if he'll barter.
SkyeDS [13:40]: if he won't barter, give him a "Christmas present".
evile [13:40]: But if he's going to be a stubborn ass, I'm not going
to throw money at him...gods know what kind of gossip THAT would
cause.

evile [13:42]: I don't want him to feel like a charity case, or to
feel like I'm trying to buy something unsavory from him.

knew ABOUT me, well enough not to freak when I sent him grocery $.

can't you give him an Xmas gift because you want to

messing with it, and I don't like other people messing with it either.

SkyeDS [14:03]: nods. thankfully the boys don't take it personally
when I don't want to share bath, but curl up on the bath pillow and
read or sleep by myself

me, without putting it safely away first....lol

evile [14:34]: I have 10 days to go, and I suddenly got an insane
urge to pack for Vegas

unpacking.
evile [14:35]: I don't mind packing/unpacking for short trips, I
don't like packing/unpacking for moving.
SkyeDS [15:10]: chocolate. chocolate is a blessing.
evile [15:12]: heh. tell that to my unruly peppermint bark recipe
SkyeDS [15:14]: I probably shouldn't go near it, I would just make it
worse :P

SkyeDS [15:20]: I could get used to saying nice things to people
every day. kinda cool.

SkyeDS [15:21]: Today I told sineater and sonar0m both that I love them
and thanked them for being in my life. And I told Hugh that it makes
me happy to see him every day
evile [15:21]: I did that at work for a while, found one nice thing
to say to someone every day. It seemed helpful. I haven't been
dragged away by the Inquisition in a while.
SkyeDS [15:22]: easier for me, I really do like Hugh, and he's just
one person
evile [15:22]: I had to go with things like "That's a really great
necklace," since I couldn't think of any personal qualities I admired.
SkyeDS [15:22]: thing is, I really do have so many people I love/love
me, I could not sit down and write every single person a
love/appreciation note in one sitting if I tried.

the same place at the same time)

SkyeDS [15:27]: my Address Book is in my OUtlook at home
SkyeDS [15:27]: I cannot send ecards from home because my damn dialup
is so slow and I have so many to send to
SkyeDS [15:28]: so, what I need to do is find someway to get all
those addresses up here, and do ecards from here :)
evile [15:28]: *nod* yahoo mail isn't so bad..but then if you send
stuff from there that's one more place you have to check regularly.
SkyeDS [15:30]: I've never used yahoo mail (although I have many
yahoo ids). I do find having a hotmail acct in addition to isp useful
evile [15:32]: the address book is useful. No way to cut and paste
addresses from my freaks.net to yahoo, but other than that it's fine.
SkyeDS [15:39]: I asked Thax if he would in addition to new garb be
willing to do the mending I am too lazy to do because I hate it.
SkyeDS [15:39]: it's like changing the oil. I could do it, would
rather pay someone else.

SkyeDS [15:39]: I have several old beloved pieces that he said he'd
mend for me :)
evile [15:40]: At one of Sharjinka's craft nights a while back, I just
took everything that needed mending, and did it all in one fell
swoop. Having company was helpful.
SkyeDS [15:42]: first thing I'm going to do is give him a pile of
mending, that shouldn't be too expensive.
SkyeDS [15:42]: then I'm going to take stock of all the raw materials
I've got

(the ME ones) and see if he can do that too

nice salwar kameez
