Western philosophy and religion sometimes saddens me. I am so tired
of hearing "true happiness can only be found within oneself." I mean,
scientifically that's a pile of horseshit, and historically it's a
pile of horseshit. Look at western society, look how miserable it is.
One reasonf or this, in my opinion and that of many non-western
philosophies is because we are too selfish and egocentric as a
society. Nothing personifies that more than the egocentric
narcisistic self-centered comment that "true" happiness must come
from within. Humans are social creatures, and they *can not* be happy
alone, they whither and become suicidally depressed if isolated for
very long, ask any psychologist. Happiness is a social experience and
is almost completely relational. What angers me more is that people
who put forward this tripe try to use eastern philosophy as reasoning
for it. These people do not understand the first thing about eastern
beliefs. There is no concept of 'I' in many eastern cultures (ancient
China being a very good example, which is where Taoism comes from and
where buddhism matured). You are defined by the relationships you
have, you are someone's son, someone's sister, someone's friend,
not "bob" the individual. Contentment can only be found within, that
is true, but contentment and happiness are not the same thing.
Happiness is something we feel only in relation to sensory
perception. By the reasoning of these idiots you should be able to be
happy locked in a completely dark room with no outside contact....
which is the perfect fucking place for most of these people I think.

As a society who fully believes in this concept the West has
basically thrown their elderly out to fend for themselves, has taken
children away from their parents, have denied inalienable rights to
have the world and forced their religion down everyone's throats.
This is happiness???? Look at China and Japan, not the government but
the people. They live in large families and take care of each
other... children are *expected* to move their parents in with them
at some point and take care of them. If your neighbor gets sick you
*go over and help out*... I mean what a fucking concept!

I will be the first one to state loudly that I will never find 'true
happiness' within myself, because it can't be found there!! I will
find true happiness in my family, my friends, my lovers, my animals,
and my world. Anyone who refuses to believe that fundamental human
truth can go jump off a cliff (which they will be happy to do since
they are happy inside). All of you people out there can continue
masterbating, talking to yourself, and reassuring yourself that you
were justified in screwing up everyone around you all you want...
I'll be over here snuggling up by a warm fire with a
lover/friend/relative, laughing my ass off at you as you slowly lose
every friend and loved one you have.... unless they are just as
selfish as you... and then can you honestly say they are any of the
above? Remember that love, friendship and fraternity are about
sacrificing things you each may want so that the other person is
happy and vice versa.

Enough ranting, western selfishness just makes me laugh and
understand why there has never been a truly successfull empire in the
entire european/american sphere of influence.
