    evile: hey :)
evile: I am guessing the reason you didn't get vicodan is because the
Dr. might have been concerned you'd exacerbate your injury if you
didn't have pain to stop you? ANd my Dr. was just a pusher. That's
the only thing that makes any sense to me.
SkyeDS: the transaction went like this
SkyeDS: the pain med you gave me isn't working
SkyeDS: can I have pain med that isn't anti inflammatory
    SkyeDS: "like what?"
    SkyeDS: mistake number one
SkyeDS: doctor shouldn't ask me that, he should TELL me what my
    options are
SkyeDS: so, the only pain meds I have experience with are narcotics,
    and I tell him so
SkyeDS: and he says, by asking for narcotics, you show yourself to be
a druggie, and I'm not going to give you any narcotics for soft
    tissue damage.
SkyeDS: he happens to be a consultant for our chief adversary, btw.
He knows it, and I know it.
SkyeDS: Worker's comp btw refused all his claims for the month's
worth of treatment because it was coded wrong.
SkyeDS: and he best be thankful that I didn't file a complaint on
him. A complaint would have certainly cost him his consultancy with
the board, and highly likely his license altogether.
SkyeDS: the thing about being a healer is that you have to understand
    poisons to understand antidotes.
SkyeDS: I spend my time helping an attorney help doctors keep their
licenses. I know how to take them away too, by definition.
    evile: wow, that sounds sucky.
evile: I guess I got narcotic drugs because I didn't ask for them,
    then. bizarre.
SkyeDS: I have as options getting a second opinion, and there is no
statute of limitations for filing a complaint on him
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I still have enough pain in my neck to prohibit function
    evile: that really sucks.
SkyeDS: but I'm glad that you don't need brain surgery so you should
    be better soon :)
    evile: me too.
evile: Mostly I was worried about going on a plane in 3 weeks
(eardrums), but the Dr. said it should be no problem.
    SkyeDS: good!
    evile: yup!
SkyeDS: I was worried about you walking to the hosp. yesterday.
evile: It was fine. It's annoying that the rest of me feels fine but
    my head does not.
evile: I had a hard time finding my way OUT once I was let go,
    though.
SkyeDS: ya. you can compartmentalize and to an extent work around
    pain anywhere but the head.
SkyeDS: I'd rather deal with injury to fingers, than with migraine.
    evile: definitely more incapacitating.
evile: I think I'm pretty much ready to pick up all the stuff I let
drop when I started feeling icky last week.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: with the exception of yoga, since I still can't move my head
around without getting dizzy. But I can walk or do the exercise bike
    just fine.
SkyeDS: I'm sure you will take care of you, and ease back into
    things, without overdoing.
SkyeDS: some people get lazy and never get back into things, and some
people do the opposite and push too hard too fast.
evile: yup. either one is easy to do.
SkyeDS: sineater sees the neurologist today. <fingers crossed>
    evile: poor kiddo.
evile: I am just going to try and maintain thru the holidays, not
lose. And then get more high-energy in January
SkyeDS: I was going to start new plan after TG
SkyeDS: it is now going to be after Xmas.
evile: Too many disruptions between TG and XMas, parties, travel,
    etc.
SkyeDS: I'm going to do like Flylady says.
SkyeDS: I'm going to just jump in, wherever I am
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I'm not going to worry about keeping up to speed with anyone
    else
    evile: every little bit helps.
SkyeDS: I'm just going to do as well as I can, I know I'm going
to "be bad" when traveling and during social situations, and I will
    do it intentionally
SkyeDS: as I will go back on the wagon intentionally
evile: yup, why sin if you're not gonna enjoy it? :)
evile: And, really, it's the daily stuff that does it, not the
occasional splurge or the occasional buckle-down & eat leaves.
SkyeDS: there are two schools of thought
SkyeDS: food is a drug, something you do for sustenance
SkyeDS: and food is a drug, something you do for pleasure
SkyeDS: I'm sorry, I know I need to see it the first way, but I'm not
going to give up using it the second way.
    evile: *nod*
evile: I think the key is being mindful, not only what you are
eating, but how much, and WHY.
evile: And then also trying to be mindful of the body's needs, for
movement, relaxation, etc. and giving yourself what you need, in
    healthful quantities.
SkyeDS: nodnod. mindful = do it with intention
    SkyeDS: intention = control.
    evile: Yup.
SkyeDS: I know what I"m doing, I know why I'm doing it, and I know
    when to stop.
    evile: *nod*
evile: Oh, btw, I found stuff in the LJ faq that I thought might be
    helpful for you:
    http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=102
    SkyeDS: molto grazie!
SkyeDS: I meant to tackle that yesterday
SkyeDS: I note that although I sent twice to you and told it to save
in the Sent folder, it doesn't reflect there.
evile: The faq is extensive, which is good, but extensive means it
takes time to find what you need.
evile: didnt get it yet. It'll probably bounce eventually if the
problem is with your isp. and if Yahoo ate it, oh well.
SkyeDS: I suspect it may be my isp
SkyeDS: I will try sending it from hotmail.
    evile: ok
evile: aww! Sweetie sent me a kitty picture!
    http://www.freaks.net/~Sweetie/laptop.jpg
    SkyeDS: :D
evile: He can be such a butt head, and then turn around and do
something so sweet. *sigh* Mostly he's sweet though, I guess I"ll
    keep him.
    SkyeDS: good idea.
    evile: :)
SkyeDS: nearly 1:30, no wonder I'm hungry
    evile: yeah!
SkyeDS: yesterday was a perfectly beautiful fall day the likes of
which we don't get many of
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: hope we get some this weekend
SkyeDS: maybe good weekend to do 38th street
    evile: *nod*
    evile: http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USTX0057_f.html
    Looks promising.
evile: I'm thinking of whisking Sweetie off to Marfa this weekend, we can
go to chinati hot springs & watch the geminids
SkyeDS: I don't know where Marfa is but it sounds exotic :)
evile: west tx. it's where the Marfa lights are.
    evile: http://www.ghosts.org/ghostlights/marfa.html
    SkyeDS: cool :)
evile: Sweetie's mentioned wanting to see them before, we've got no plans
an it's a new moon this weekend, plus the meteor shower is going....I
hope he will want to go.
SkyeDS: my first, best friend from college called last night
SkyeDS: and then I looked in the SCA book this month
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: the first eq event of 05 is in January, where he lives
SkyeDS: it's 370 miles away (just like Texarkana)
    evile: how awesome is that!
SkyeDS: if I can persuade the boys
SkyeDS: it is the weekend before start of semester, and a LONG drive
SkyeDS: but I haven't seen Cali in a decade, and he has a 7 yo boy
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: being sent to the bank, brb
