Last nite's dream: I was working at a radio station, or had gone back
to WGRE, and there were these paper cards with pictures on them that
were like CDs, and I didn't know how to play them.
Horoscopes
Taurus
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com) Your ambitions, dear Taurus, could be
helped along today by a kindhearted and charismatic woman from out of
state, or even from a foreign country. Efforts to advance yourself in
just about any direction - career, financial, educational, spiritual -
should be greatly assisted by a new sense of focus, and by
appropriate use of your innate practical skills. You should finish
the day feeling more determined, more optimistic, and more centered.
Gemini
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com) Unforeseen circumstances could spark
your desire to increase your income, dear Gemini, and you could find
yourself looking for ways to put some extra money in your pocket very
quickly. Perhaps you'll look for a temporary or part-time job that
you can perform outside your usual routine. An engagement with a
friend, or with the romantic interest in your life, which may have
had to be postponed could finally take place tonight. Enjoy your
evening.
"If it has tires or testicles, you're gonna have trouble with it"
God damn if that isn't the fucking truth.
I still owe almost $300 in 'taxes' on my Subaru. in addition to my
regular payment of $360. God damn.
So...for July here is my income:
$85 from amazon.com book sales
$1890.61 - pay
----------
Expenses:
6 Flags Tix for Me, Tom, X and family:
$133 (plus tax?)
Capital One (big debt)- minimum pmt is 0. Balance is $6084.74.
Cafepress.com charge went on this card. :( Interest for last month
was $51.50. So putting $100 down would pay 50 of interest and 50 of
principle, basically. :(
Checks Unlimited; they didn't have my Flavia checks so they sent blue
safety checks which even though they aren't pretty or interesting,
cost $2.50 more than I sent. So I owe them $2.50
People's Bank: Balance at last billing was 263.34, and I charged
puppy's medical care, etc. on it after that. So I need to pay this
one to 0 this month, because there will be more on it next month.
Bank of America-goddamned fucking cockadoodie car-$359-base rent, and
half the remaining tax balance is $140.54. So that adds up to about
$499. Go ahead and throw $500 at that.
Austin Theatre Alliance suckered me into a $50 pledge, so I'll do
that as my tithe this month and put off my planned donation to Austin
Zoo.
So, that is all the bills I have in-hand. Here are the estimates for
the rest:
Southern Union Gas- $20 or so
Electric/water/other utils- $300 or so
Cell phone: $50
Magpies credit card: $100 (probably $60 minimum, but pay more if I
can)
So...Total income for July: 1975.61
Total expenses for July: 1505.50
Which leaves me with $470.11 for groceries and incidental expenses.
Not bad, actually. I was feeling poor and miserable, but laying it
out like that has actually been good for me.
Not 100% happy about paying minimums on Big Debt and Magpies debt,
but better to pay a small amount, and NOT leave myself broke, not
charge anything else, than to pay more and have less cash, and then
charge more stuff.
So, I haven't gotten my retirement fund statement yet, but by my
estimate, I've got around $8300 in there. Take 20% as the penalty for
withdrawal, and there's $6674 to use to pay off debts. Which would
knock out the Capital One debt and leave me with a couple hundred to
throw at Magpies. But still leave me with about $1500 on Magpies to
pay. So it's not a perfect solution. I suppose the best thing to do
is hang in here a while longer, get the goddamned car payments back
under control, and then pay more towards the plastic, hopefully have
the Big Debt down by $1500-2000, and be more in a position to
quit 'round January-ish of 2003. Plus, that will allow me to accrue
more in my retirement account to use when I bag this place.
And I still need a PT job. That would help tremendously in the paying
of debts &/or having of disposable income. And possibly give me
another 'out' with X & fam. Gosh, what if I have to work on the
Sunday that we were gonna go to 6 Flags?
