462 The weekend

  Was lovely.
  
  Got my estimate from Body Tek at 8 am, it was the highest of the 3.
  But the guy was really nice and their office was neat and nice. And
  they are the only body shop open on saturdays. I'll email the info to
  Jennie the fire girl and see what she has to say about it.
  
  Hung out at L&B's for a couple hours, left the back door open
  and let the kitty run around outside. Unlike ours, she comes back in
  with very little coaxing. Fed the birds, read the trashy magazines
  L gets (Star, Enquirer, People), and then went on to Bed Bath &
  Beyond & Ross. Got some new sunglasses, a bra, and a carrying case
  for my shower supplies for when I go camping at Ross, got a camping-
  sized pillow & pillowcase at BB&B.
  
  Went back home, heated up broccoli rice casserole & got ready to go
  to the poly picnic at Apple & Bryce's. That was a really nice time.
  They have a nice big house & backyard. Chatted with people, just
  really enjoyed the day. apple/angela used to go to RHPS, ages ago.
  One of teh guys I met there, Markus, was a vendor at Excalibur. He
  didn't seem to know about the 'no pop ups' rule for next year. One of
  the couples was kinda icky. Moomie who had popped out 5 kids and
  daddy who was very large and wearing baggy shorts and when he sat
  down some part of his manly anatomy hung out of 'em. I didn't look
  too closely at whatever it was to see....ick. And they had their
  youngest ? I guess with them, a spoiled little fat kid. Not too many
  kids, though. Which was cool.
  
  I stayed there too long to get to the Austin No Kidding dinner at
  Hoover's. :( But I went ahead and felt sociable enough to go to PNO.
  which was actually fun. Lee & Susan were there, and their friend
  Greg, who I am pretty sure Jen and I saw at Gothfest in Feb. and they
  introduced me to their new friend JT, who is a super smart guy...he
  and I had a very long serious conversation after they left.
  
  A guy named Tony was at the picnic and at the PNO, he has a daughter
  named Katrina. They live in Boerne, so I asked Katrina if she knew
  Ben. Turns out he used to date her best friend....and at some point
  Katrina had given him $20 to buy her popcorn, and he never brought
  her the change. I'll have to get after that little poop, scamming
  money out of nice little girls. It occurred to me that perhaps I can
  get Ben a membership in CMA and take him to the Samhain campout.
  Depending on when it is. I have a funny feeling it will overlap with
  my cruise. They haven't scheduled it, and I don't know why I think
  that, I just do.
  
  Anyhoo....I've decided that I like the poly people, they are nice.
  And SIL is definitely NOT poly, by the relationship standards I
  saw/heard about at the picnic. So...whatever.
  
  This week: gather camping shit, pack for camping, put white gas in
  Coleman stove and lantern, put new mantles on lantern. Shop for
  camping. Cook stew by Wednesday at latest & freeze.
  
  Oh. Did I mention? I got my IRS refund! perfect timing on that one.
  It came on Saturday. I put it on my altar in my work room next to my
  feng shui fish and my red feng shui envelope. To create more good
  prosperity vibes.

How was your weekend? Mine was good. I went to a picnic on Saturday
over at some peoples' house & met some nice folks who are going to
the CMA campout, so I now have people to camp with. :) One gal,
Angela, is a bat biologist. She liked my tattoo :)I liked her taste
in music; it was cool. As much as I really like meeting guys and
flirting and being stupid, I really have a harder time meeting women
I get along with. So it was way cool to meet her. I also met a nice
gal named Terri who does alot of local poetry reading stuff; she was
very drama-queen. Probably fun to hang with sometimes, as long as you
don't get to involved in her emotional miasma. Also met a person
named Larissa, who I think may not be genetically female, if you know
what I mean. We had a nice little conversation, she had cute earrings
on, we talked about that a bit and she liked my little headband, it
was just a silly light smalltalk kind of thing, but it's nice to
realize that I can still do that when I want to!

I also went to PNO Saturday nite and actually had a
nice time. Lee & Susan,2 of the folks who went on my bus trip, were
there with their friend Greg--I think we saw Greg at Gothfest-he was
at round table near us with the cute girl I took a picture of. He had
longish blonde hair, high cheekbones, was in some kind of red
edwardian frock coat & ruffled shirt. A cutie!
Anyhoo...disappointingly he is not going to be at
the campout, ah well. I can't picture someone that effete really
being into nature & camping, so it's probably for the best. :)

So anyway, I had a nice visit with Lee & Susan, and
this wierdo guy JT who has this big online database of every religon
in the world and the various beliefs that coincide with the beliefs
of other systems...he was a freak, but a very interesting freak. We
were talking quantum physics & Carl Jung & shit. It was a very
college-type conversation. I kind of miss that very high
toned intellectual type talk; people in RL don't
tend to do that much. JT isn't camping either. Which is cool; I
think my brain would explode if I spent an entire weekend on that
refined intellectual plane.
