SkyeDS: I meant to work 10 - 2 today but it turned into 12:30 -
4:30... oh well
evile: *shrug* these things happen. It doesn't seem boss man is too
uptight about such things.

evile: I slept in a little too, working 8-4 (with phone duty)
SkyeDS: wish I had gotten to sleep in, I was fussing with legal
documents on the computer that I had to send to myself here
evile: yuck.
evile: It was nice to see Brandy and Steve out last night. He works
insane hours a lot of the time, and she's super shy. It was nice of
you to take such an interest in her.
SkyeDS: brandy = kyahn? sat next to you?
SkyeDS: that's right
SkyeDS: because I had to make a note to myself not brandyeileen
evile: *nod* You talked to her for over an hour, I think.
SkyeDS: she was kind to take an interest in me for that long
SkyeDS: she had/has a Catalina macaw, cross between a blue & gold and
a scarlet
evile: cool.
SkyeDS: hybrid macaws are even flashier
SkyeDS: and you can breed hybrids together to get even more flashier
than t hat
SkyeDS: and for some reason the birds are bigger than either of their
parental species too
SkyeDS: I thought last night rather pleasant.
evile: me too. It was a good bunch.
SkyeDS: it was also nice to meet Marcos, whose writing I enjoy when I
have the chance
evile: *nod* we are thinking of making him an Honorary Bitch :)
SkyeDS: and the food was good as always, haven't had a bad experience
there ever, used to live right next door

evile: When the group gets past a certain size, it becomes difficult
for me to get in a good visit with everyone. It was good to see so
many people, but I didn't really feel like I got any indepth
conversation. Oh well.
SkyeDS: nods. I was worried that sonar0m would be out of place and
unhappy but he and sineater and oracle_tx seemed to do just fine
evile: talked with Kirby for a minute on her way out about parking
for Margaret cho, and with oracle_tx for a bit in the parking lot, but
that's about it. Oracle_tx is a sweet guy.
SkyeDS: if he had been unhappy or made people around him unhappy that
would have felt like my fault.
evile: *shrug* everyone is responsible for their own actions, we're
all grownups.
SkyeDS: we likes oracle_tx reminds me to friend him today.
evile: If  sonar0m had been an ass, I wouldhave said "gee, sonar0m was
acting like an ass" but I would not have held it against you or sineater
for bringing him.
SkyeDS: you will remember when kaleon first met you it wasn't pleasant
for either of you.
SkyeDS: and kaleon placed the blame squarely on me.
evile: *shrug* that was pretty awkward. I didn'tknow a damn thing
about poly and didn't have any idea what protocols were involved. I
just followed your lead...oh well.
SkyeDS: Kaleon was a big assed baby about it and I shouldn't have let
him fob the blame off on me
SkyeDS: but I don't have defenses for emotional blackmail.
evile: Kaleon and I talked about it afterwards (years afterwards) and
made our apologies. best to just let it go at this point.
SkyeDS: just what he said about it being my place to make sure people
that i am responsible for bringing together treat each other
courteously kind of stuck, or some part of it did
SkyeDS: anyway
evile: oh well.
evile: it's always nice to introduce the people who don't know one
another to one another, but after that, it's up to them to relate or
not, IMHO.
SkyeDS: and I'm already aware I need a thicker skin in general and in
many diverse particulars.
evile: *nod* not taking things personally is always a good plan
evile: I got a lot done last night; I am feeling much better about
leaving home.

SkyeDS: for the record I hate converting documents from one format
into two or three others, it's tedious and it sucks
evile: *nod* I got tapped to do that when we were making this new
system at work. It sucked and it was boring.
evile: I really hope I don't have pertussis. OTOH, I could breathe on
a bunch of obnoxious kids between here and Indiana.
SkyeDS: hope that Kirby doesn't have it and if she does that I didn't
catch it at dinner, but nothing to be done about it now in that case
evile: yup
evile: I started taking echinacea & goldenseal a few days ago. I'm
doing some better, and the stuff I'm coughing up is clear again.

evile: I don't have time to see the ER before I leave Austin, let
alone my real dr. (my annual was due this month, they never called or
sent a reminder mail, I think it's definitely time for a new one.)
SkyeDS: poke & pries = suck.
evile: this year I get my first mammogram, too.
SkyeDS: saw a new NP/PA this last time, she was very combative in
trying to persuade me I need bariatric surgery
evile: unfortunate that she was combative...
SkyeDS: I don't think bariatric surgery is a first step, I think it's
a final step. She just went completely past Go (diet, exercise)
evile: *nod* that's the way it seems to be these days.
SkyeDS: she had bariatric surgery ergo it is the first and only r
ight answer for everyone else
evile: *nod* of course.
SkyeDS: not a convincing argument to my mind
evile: nope.
SkyeDS: I would not be surprised if after I have emailed half a dozen
people half a dozen times and gotten little to no response, that we
get turned away from the youth academy tomorrow because the terms
under which we were there last year are not agreeable this year
SkyeDS: not necessarily to the legal eagles but to Karen
SkyeDS: which is ok because then we'll go to Lake Somerville :)
evile: oh dear. Is it a long trip?
SkyeDS: nah, half an hour
evile: oh, if it's close to somerville, no biggie, then. It won't
waste a day.
SkyeDS: my thought exactly
SkyeDS: and there would be more selfish pleasure in Somerville to me
as opposed to riding kids around all day
evile: there ya go.
SkyeDS: the relationship with the Shire has changed anyway, since we
don't see them every week anymore

SkyeDS: Karen has been entourage to the Princess. If she remains
entourage after Coronation when Princess becomes Queen then she'll be
even more insufferable I suspect
evile: that's too bad.
SkyeDS: it may be in my favor though that the Princess and her bevy
of little girls love Mirage
SkyeDS: so whatever Karen has to say in effort to poison the waters
isn't enough to keep them from spending time with the girls and being
at least superficially polite to me
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I can't control my reputation, just my character.

SkyeDS: Bridget and I are always going to differ about riding and
training styles, and if she's jealous of the structure of my marriage
and the boys functioning as "horse slaves" (what apparently everyone
else has been calling them)
SkyeDS: I can't help that
SkyeDS: but I think there would not have been as much bad feeling
between us as there was, if it weren't for Karen
SkyeDS: so I told Bridget that, and told her I for one was not going
to let Karen spread poison any further, a nd offered an olive branch

SkyeDS: if things do go well at Y.A., I'm going to copy the Waiver w
signatures and give a copy to Randy
SkyeDS: as well as to a couple of other people in office
SkyeDS: if it gets back to Sir Alexis, Golden Lancer, Father of
Equestrian in Ansteorra and Randy's best bud, and Ansteorra's Lawyer,
all the better

did fine at dinner, I thought, and if that's as far as everyone can
compromise, I guess I'll have to make do.

SkyeDS: and I hope that if there aren't any more similar incidences
everybody could like, put it out of mind and play nice in sandbox

she got from someone else, so I don't know that he thinks she is

never "degraded him especially here in LJ" because my LJ speaks for

there....so I don't know where people are getting this 'informants'
and bla bla from.

she read it and she responded before thinking it through.

about the both of us, and it ended in praise

trying to be freinds. It's a loss for all concerned, IMHO.

words not mine

the words of one person to be some vast conspiracy and get all
crazed, that's his business.

evile: He and I have already talked, he says he doesn't think I'm in
on the conspiracy (this time) so I'm cool. That's all I care about,
really. Jump my shit for what I actually do and say, I'm cool with
that, but don't make shit up to be mad at me about.
SkyeDS: it isn't right to tell someone you aren't mad at them or
suspicious of what they tell you and then go home and blow up because
you damn well are too mad and suspicious and then refuse to tell them
that or give them a chance to defend themselves or whatever.

otherwise. And if he lacks spine or testicles to speak directly to me
and would rather go home and yell at the wall, that's fine. I didn't
do anything wrong, so I'm just as glad not to be getting shit on as a
result.

mad/suspicious and saying that, then rehashing "evidence" in your
head and deciding later otherwise about the mad/suspicious thing, is
wrong too, if you don't discuss it with the persons you know are
interested in such

on his, and I'm going to act on mine.

SkyeDS: anyway, I had my reasons for not responding to Nikiyoy's posts
SkyeDS: and if she's going to hold sineater and someone else's reaction
against me personally, so be it.
evile: I don't think so. I just think she sees you as being
surrounded by irrational people who have threatened her, so doesn't
see it as worth her while to fight her way through them to speak
rationally to you
SkyeDS: if he did yell at the wall btw I would leave him a lone to do
so, but he doesn't yell at the wall, he yells not at me, but around
me, so he puts me in a position of having to deal with it.

SkyeDS: having worked for lawyers for many moons now I know when I'm
being yelled at and when I'm just present when someone's yelling

truth telling session, a nd he said no
SkyeDS: so I decided I would have a general sit down and truth
telling session in my journal, and I did, and so that chapter is
finished until someone tells me otherwise far as I'm concerned

SkyeDS: I'm not the one Nikiyoy needs to reason with anyway
evile: you're the person whose journal she posted in...so she sees it
as more between you and her than anyone else.
SkyeDS: and the reason I didn't answer it is also in my LJ - in my
memories

SkyeDS: I don't answer negativity with more, it is a vicious cycle
SkyeDS: I offered up a blessing for her and went on my merry way
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: which is what I told sineater and Jubi I was doing
SkyeDS: and I told them, you do what you will, but that's what I'm
doing and why
SkyeDS: Jubi being very devoutly Xian t hought that Nikiyoy's post in my
LJ served some purpose, and I said, well, everything that's happened
to me lately seems to be to test my resolve not to take things
personally and not be negative back
SkyeDS: I am pleased with my response to those tests, it is improving
slowly but surely
evile: As I told nikiyoy...truth is a tricky tool (truth re: your
feelings, not truth as in facts) ...you can use it as a can opener,
to open the tin shell of those around you and get to the good stuff
inside, or you can use it like a sledgehammer, which will destroy the
other person's tin can and leave you with a mess. And then there are
some cans you don't want to open, as all they contain is Whoop Ass.
SkyeDS: I agree.
SkyeDS: I'm trying to gently persuade sineater to give up the hammer.
SkyeDS: I can't take it away forcibly.
evile: I am sad to see nothing but crushed cans and mess around
several people I care about...but they're all grownups and I can't
tell other people what to do.
SkyeDS: I am having a small amount of success in the gentle
persuasion department too.
evile: Well, Nikiyoy could have been a good friend for you. You could
have been a good friend for her to know...and now that chance is
gone. It's just very sad.
SkyeDS: while I have a long memory I don't bear grudges
SkyeDS: if she reaches that same place eventually the chance will
arise again, if it's meant to
evile: I think after the treatment by your protectors, Nikiyoy won't try
again.
evile: she's pretty cautious and guarded of her real self, even after
knowing her as long as I have I've only scratched the surface. she
takes a lot of things to heart, more than she appears to, and when
she gets hurt, she just closes up
SkyeDS: that's perfectly understandable
SkyeDS: I think had the reverse happened, and I was perceived as
attacking Nikiyoy, and her circle of friends closed around her and
delivered the blistering response I would expect the SBC to deliver
SkyeDS: I would never come out from cover again either
evile: well, it's sad, and it's a loss to all concerned, and creates
some awkwardness for those who know and like all concerned...but it
seems to have been handled as adults.
evile: so hopefully that will continue.
