Yesterday after work was a whole lotta hassle for not much return.
The bus driver lurched away from stop before I was seated, causing me
to bang my left knee pretty hard on the seat. Then I got home,
grabbed a snack, then ran out the door to drive back to work, get the
4 boxes I'd grabbed for nikiyoy, then to HEB for a balloon & a card for
terriblelynne, who was in surgery this a.m. I wanted a dragonfly balloon
like I'd seen last time I was there with Sweetie, but they didn't have
any. I got a generic round blue balloon with the sun on it, and 'get
well soon', ran off to Seton. Hassles getting parked, then off to
find hte room. Door was closed and there was a medical printout
thingy on the door, which I interpreted to mean "we are shoving
something up terriblelynne's butt right now, don't come in". So I stuck the
card & baloon on the door, and ran away. I hate hospitals anyway. By
this time it was almost 7. I called home, then went home. Sweetie & I
went to Souper Salads. Then home where I read and did nothing until
bedtime. My knee was a bit swollen. Sweetie told me a nice horror story
about water on the knee and he hopes I don't get it. ick!

I woke up a couple times during the night, once to a very
overwhelming cat pee reek. Ick.

I was having a nice dream when I woke up, thought. In it, I was at a
divey little bar/diner place, kind of like the restaurant out at
Rocky-something-Rock-with- Rocks-Ranch where Excalibur Faire is.

I was having dinner with Erinlefey, Tangentsferret & Pace.

I bought us all scratch-off lottery tickets. Pace & Erin each won
$5,000 each. I scratched my ticket and thought I lost, so I went and
got a Shiner Bock from the bar (giving the bartender a good-natured
hard time in the process--he was sort of a typical 'clean cut college
kid' type, a pseudohippie slackerboy in slightly worn & faded Gap/J
Crew clothes & Tevas with slightly long-ish hair but not long enough
to be a real hippie boy) and we were just sitting around the table
visiting and being happy for those in our party who had won.

Then I looked at my scratch off again before I went to tear it up and
throw it away and realized that one of the symbols was a "wild" that
would match any other symbol. So then I won $5,000, too.

It was a very happy dream, both for spending time with nice people I
like and for winning when I thought I hadn't. But mostly for the
feeling of sitting around BS'ing with friends, just enjoying
the 'ambience' and giving the bartender a hard time.

SkyeDS: amen sister HUGS
evile: all ready for your SCA event this weekend?
SkyeDS: gettin there :)
evile: cool
evile: I think I'm going to go to Drandmir's event next weekend, one
day at least
SkyeDS: event next weekend too
SkyeDS: will go to Morconor's one day event in Waco if it's the first
weekend in Oct.
evile: *nod*
evile: I'm still trying to get TRF plans solidified.
SkyeDS: I saw
evile: Sweetie's VW friends want to go, too. So it's me coordinating
with him coordinating with THEM, too. :P in other words--herding cats.
SkyeDS: fun
evile: yeah.
evile: It will be,eventually, I think.
evile: It's always been a hassle to plan, buy, pack, drive, bla bla,
but faire is always worth it once you walk thru the front gate. the
hassle to fun ratio is becoming more unfavorable year by year,
however.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: *shrug* it happens. we outgrow things. Life goes on.
SkyeDS: broke my heart to quit going to CMA
evile: I missed the heyday of CMA. I joined at the time right before
all the fit hit the shan.
SkyeDS: I might not have quit just because of the pet ban
SkyeDS: but, that came at he same time they were going to make all of
us subsidize those with children
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and, none of the people I went to see were going anymore, and
I wasn't making new friends either
evile: stuff like that isn't much fun when you don't know anyone.
evile: which is why I am not going to the harvest king thing by
myself.
evile: The idea of getting Bryce drunk enough to drag him there
seemed both challenging & intriguing...but he'd never forgive me for
it :P
