I am in a foul mood today. Yesterday's day off was pleasant, and I
got a bit done at home, but then it was ruined by the jerks at
Polydinner.

I am wondering if there has been an attitude shift because I now show
up with thewordnerd (the blind guy) and as part of a 'couple', I am not
as 'accessible' ? I dunno, that may be pure paranoia on my part.

We got there and there were 5 people already seated in a strange
booth that wrapped around a corner, so that the table had half its
seats as booth and half as chairs. it appeared that 2 booth seats
were available, and 2 chair seats were available. I asked Nolan which
he preferred, and he said 'booth'. so I walked him around to the
booth & saw that there were flowers sitting in the booth. I asked
Jonathan to move them, and he told me that the booth seats were being
saved. So I said 'oh well,' and sat Nolan in the first chair next to
the booth seats. I started to sit in the chair at the end of the
table, and then Chancie (large bosomed loudmouth gal who does not
wear enough foundation garments) said "Oh, you might not want to sit
there, we will probably add a table to that end"...
So I grabbed a table and pushed it on to the end of the table, and
sat down next to nolan at the new table I'd pulled over. (meantime
there are still 4 VACANT Seats at the original table, all between me
& Nolan and the rest of the people--so very conducive to sitting &
visiting)... I may just be overly sensitive and pissy, but I felt
very disrespected and very excluded by this 'place saving' stuff.
THEN someone showed up with a child, which she seated across from me
and the proceeded to ignore while she visited with teh adults.
Meanwhile the child is trying very hard to behave and get along,
regaling the adults (ME) with "see my necklace, it's a dragon. I have
10 other necklaces. My auntie gave it to me" bla bla. I mean, there
was NOTHING wrong with the kid's attempt at conversation or her table
manners, but I was annoyed that she was basically dumped on me to
entertain. fuck. In the meantime, her mother and Chancie are
conversing at 'outdoor voice' levels about a bdsm conference they're
going to, and dildos, and other unsavory inappropriate dinner
conversation, not to mention things that really don't need to be
mentioned in front of a kid. It was awful. I was very very annoyed.

Anyhoo...here I am at work. As soon as I got here there was a pissy
message from my boss about working TUC's. It's always one of 2 things
with her: "more numbers" or "work TUC"....god damn it, I can NOT do
TUC and get big numbers, and since we've been doing the TUC shit for
so long, you'd think she'd know that by now. argh.

Last night I dreamt about having a Vanner. Lynn & Bob were helping me
take it to sineater & skye_ds's land in Rockdale. The trailer would not go
through the covered bridge, so we were talking about driving around.

This Week's Meme
From Bryan Roberts' journal -- I know nobody reads mine, and I'm
gonna be so fucking depressed to find out no one commented on this.

But...

Invent a memory of me and post it in the comments. It can be anything
you want, so long as it's something that's never happened. Then, of
course, post this to your journal and see what people would like to
remember of you, only the universe failed to cooperate in making it
happen so they had to make it up instead.

Remember when we went to Vermont? Of all the places to choose to try
to pick up chicks - but hey - you said the skiing was good and there
were snow bunnies to be had, plus, you were driving and buying....
how could I say no?

Whoda thunk that the orange juice and the tequila sunrises would get
mixed up and that (because the drinks were weak but expensive) you
didn't even notice that you had the one with the alcohol.

You ended up standing on the piano in the bar, cigar in hand, belting
out "Don't Cry For Me Argentina".

We didn't get laid, but you had two offers of record contracts. What
ever happened with that?

Perhaps you've heard of Gloria Estefan?

I'm her stunt-double.

the day I met you. It was like I'd known you forever, instantly. You
drank pineapple juice. We flew kites. Darth Vader, I think.

If I'm fortunate enough to die and go to heaven, it will be a park
with sunshine and soft green grass and a million kites and J and you,
and us laughing at in-jokes we just made up, forever and ever.

evile: hi :)
SkyeDS: how do :) glad you had a good time!
evile: It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
SkyeDS: awesome :D
evile: If I am half as gorgeous and full of energy at 50 as Siouxie
is, I will consider myself blessed.
evile: We ran into a guy we went to HS with. That was a trip...
SkyeDS: slow - food :)
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Growing old is mandatory,
Growing up is entirely optional.
Remember, It's never too late to have
a happy childhood!

evile: :P
SkyeDS: doing a little powerstroke v cummins v duramax research.
*sighs8
evile: how exciting. :P
SkyeDS: sidebar: the whole transmission thing (since we had to
replace one once)
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: seems like every time I do truck research it gets more
difficult
SkyeDS: all to answer a simple question: why did you buy a (whatever)
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: seems to me if I could get a Dodge HO Cummins Diesel engine
with a Chevy Allison transmission all would be good
SkyeDS: however it doesn't work that way apparently
evile: No clue! This more of Sweetie's kind of thing.
SkyeDS: has to be my kind of thing
SkyeDS: isn't sineater's
SkyeDS: and it's my stupid idea to be pullin horses and living
quarters all over creation
evile: *nod*
evile: If you're going to be making an investment, best to do the
research first
SkyeDS: I don't spend $3 without doing my research first, much less
$30K
evile: yup.
evile: good news - Terriblelynne. had surgery this a.m. and she is now
back in her room, awake & talkin and doing fine.
SkyeDS: :)
evile: Looks like I'll be stopping by after work.
evile: I hate hospitals...but it's not like I'm visiting a deathbed,
so it'll be OK.
SkyeDS: you're doing a good deed :)
evile: *sigh* I just want to be a good friend for her. I would want
to be visited if I were in her place.
SkyeDS: nodnods
evile: I was going to go by the godiva counter in Highland mall but
then I remembered she doesn't like sweets. :(
evile: Oh well, I'll think of something.
SkyeDS: flowers? (trite I know)
evile: Maybe. You're right in that they are pretty much the standard,
but sometimes classic is best.
SkyeDS: if you're looking for edibles, nuts are generally considered
good for you (and aren't necessarily sweet)
evile: ooh, there's an idea :)
evile: I know she likes spicy too. so maybe something with a little
zing to it :)
SkyeDS: right...as long as she's not on fat restriction
evile: incentive to get better :)
evile: When I had my endometriosis surgery, I could not wait to be
better and off liquid diet so I could eat the chocolates Lynn had for
me :)
SkyeDS: what did she have surgery for?
evile: she had a broken shunt that needed to be replaced
evile: she fainted at Central Market poly dinner on the 1st, and went
in for a checkup. She'd been having headaches, but didn't think
anything of it until she fainted and everyone said 'go to a doctor!
now!"
SkyeDS: forgive ignorance ...shunt = heart right?
evile: actually, hers is for her head.
evile: they usually are for the heart.
SkyeDS: but it's the thing that holds valves open right
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: shudder
evile: yeah. Apparently it's a spina bifida thing, the brain
accumulates fluid without a shunt to drain it.
evile: I got a nice phone message from Connie yesterday evening.
Sounds like Paulie's doing good.
SkyeDS: Connie is a blessing
evile: I'm so glad that y'all have at least one decent set of
neighbors out there :)
SkyeDS: the Widow Jesichek is so quiet we've never met her, makes her
decent in my mind, and we've met Billy Means and I forget his name,
border our far acre across the creek, and they're cool too. But
Connie is my friend :)
SkyeDS: matter of fact we'd all be happy to get rid of the one thorn,
that being the Mullins
evile: sounds like they really bring down the 'tone' of the place.
SkyeDS: tis the general consensus
evile: well, hopefully they'll lose out & be gone one way or the
other soon.
evile: Did you see where Ararat got cancelled as next week's
polydinner location?
SkyeDS: hadn't looked
evile: apparently it's not very group friendly. Oh well. I still want
to try it sometime.
evile: Ladydreamtime is wanting to go to Zen and then around the corner for
karaoke. I am kind of hoping that doesn't happen.
evile: I've never been to a karaoke night where I knew anyone who was
singing. Or where the singers had any talent. So maybe going with
friends who have talent might make a difference. I should probably
give it another chance.
SkyeDS: you might have fun w/ me and Aeris
SkyeDS: but we haven't gone together ina very long while
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: we also go to gay bars particularly
evile: fun :)
SkyeDS: ok, all the men in this office are just weird. they are
just, weird.
evile: heh.
evile: everyone here is wierd. I just ignore them, because they are
not wierd in a fun or entertaining way.
SkyeDS: there is t hat, they are all entertaining. to me at least.
evile: bonus :)
evile: If I had one decent coworker, this job would be lots more
tolerable
evile: I really want to go to the gwnn bash ...but it ain't gonna
happen. :( Sunday is pony play demo. I wanna see ponies.
SkyeDS: what's going on Sunday
evile: Supposedly [cousin B] is here from Friday to Sunday. And [uncle B]'s bday
is Saturday. So I can't do anything kinky this weekend. It's all
playing by ear to see what family is doing.
SkyeDS: oh right
evile: The GWNN bash is this weekend, starts Friday with dinner &
ends Sunday with the picnic. Which begins with pony demo :(
evile: Time fails, once again, to do its job.
SkyeDS: if you knew what time the demo was at, you could tell them,
look, I have one commitment, but am open rest of time?
evile: No, I don't think it works that way.
evile: Plus I don't want to pay whatever it costs just to be there an
hour.
SkyeDS: have been encountering the same ?s regarding Harvest King
SkyeDS: no point my taking off Thu, M has class
SkyeDS: could go Thu night after that and let sineater drive down on on
Friday night
evile: *nod*
evile: I'm not going, I don't think.
SkyeDS: and wondering if he doesn't show up till say Saturday, if
they'd want the full admission for him (probably so)
evile: probably.
SkyeDS: go home time?
evile: yup.
evile: talk at ya tomorrow. :)
SkyeDS: ciao :D
evile: *hugs*
