evile: Hi there! How was your weekend?
SkyeDS: went as well as could, given that I was grounded, ty, how was
yours?
evile: Not bad. Got a little bombshell Sunday nite though: Aunt L's got
The Rubber Pig's kids for the summer.
SkyeDS: goodness
SkyeDS: why
SkyeDS: honeymoon?
SkyeDS: I mean, all summer?
evile: The Story goes like this: The Rubber Pig was going for back surgery the
4th. She was going to be in the hospital recovring for 1 month, then
at home on bed rest for 2 more. The Rubber Pig's mom agreed to take the kids
for the summer.
evile: Surprise, Miracle, Oh Good Heavens, The Rubber Pig made it through the
surgery and was home and resting by Sunday the 6th. What Powers of
Recovery she has!!!
evile: Then, The Story goes, The Rubber Pig's Mother attempted suicide and
can't take the kids for the rest of the summer. And, of course, since
Brother A isn't working or doing anything else with himself, he doesnt
have the energy/resources/whatever to watch 3 kids and a sick wife
all summer.
evile: *hand to forehead* O The Pathos!
SkyeDS: <arches a brow>
evile: Does this all sound like Pure Grade A Bullshit to you, too?
SkyeDS: better than I could spin it
evile: *facedesktequilashot*
SkyeDS: but then what would I know
SkyeDS: since I didn't work Friday I finally made a chamber of
commerce mixer thing that went on downtown
SkyeDS: walked ground crew with bird, broom, flyers and cards behind
the boys on the horses
SkyeDS: up and down mainstreet for about four hours
evile: Excellent.
SkyeDS: Saturday was jousting practice, I spent it on the porch with
the bird and five little girls crawling all over me
SkyeDS: and Sunday I taught lessons to Randy & Meghann for an hour
SkyeDS: stopped bleeding Thursday, saw Hidalgo
evile: sounds nice :)
SkyeDS: I probably pushed it too hard, I'm very tired all the time now
SkyeDS: but I'm one of those people, I want to know when the soonest
I can get up and do is
evile: yeah...it takes a lot out of ya to be sick. And you just make
yourself sicker longer by pushing yourself...it's hard to sit & do
nothing, though. I know.
evile: I'm still not quite sure how Aunt L got roped into taking all 3
kids all summer. Brother A, Sister H & I used to spend time up with L&B when
we were kids, but 1 at a time, for only 2 weeks, we were all verbal
& pottytrained, and we went to daycamp.
evile: I am really seriously livid...like head exploding pissed off.
Not even 3 weeks ago, Brother A took a vow to accept the responsiblity of
fatherhood, and he sluffed it off first chance he got.
evile: AND as far as I know, Brother A and The Rubber Pig are STILL trying to
conceive one of their very own.
SkyeDS: after back surgery?
evile: Even though a) she's sick anda b) they can't fucking handle
the 3 she's already made.
SkyeDS: all I have is an extra hole and I'm too afraid to masturbate
much less have sex or be on a horse for two weeks
evile: *shaking head*
evile: I don't get it. She's in no physical condition to be pregnant,
neither of them are working, she can't take care of the 3 she's got,
he's no help (other than having sucker-relatives)...so why the hell
bring another squalling lump into this fucking trainwreck?
evile: the 2 year old is not only nonverbal and not potty trained,
she is still breastfeeding...
evile: Oh well. I am just going to paddle down that nice river of
Denial and stop thinking about it.
SkyeDS: breastfeeding?
SkyeDS: then how the hell is she going to spend the summer somewhere
else?
evile: yup. Aunt L's going to be weaning and pottytraining it,
apparently.
SkyeDS: why is Aunt L doing this to herself?
evile: Like one or the other wasn't traumatic enough for all
concerned...
evile: "that's what family does"=Aunt L Q. Martyr
evile: And when the little shits are driving her batshit and she's
climbing the walls, I'm sorry but my schedule is packed and I can't
possibly take them off her hands...
SkyeDS: I don't know if we could either
SkyeDS: I work during the week
SkyeDS: sineater is still trying to find a job
SkyeDS: weekends are full almost through the very end of July
evile: *fingers crossed for his interview today*
SkyeDS: I'm not taking children with me to Coronation, which will be
huge
evile: nope.
SkyeDS: or to my family reunion
SkyeDS: or to CRW
SkyeDS: nor am I going to take them to practice in Houston, Elgin or
have them while I'm teaching lessons on Sundays
evile: nope.
evile: Seriously, I dont' think it will occur to Aunt L to ask you or
sineater to help out, since you're an hour away etc. I'm surprised Brother A
didn't though...
evile: While it is very annoying and hurtful to be
labeled 'childhater' I must say I'm pretty grateful for it right
about now.
SkyeDS: probably didn't occur to Brother A for the same reason
SkyeDS: or maybe they don't trust the witch in the family not to eat
the kids, who knows
evile: Or maybe it's time to be grateful that all of sineater's phonetags
seem to have missed.
SkyeDS: he has tried, I've seen him
evile: Yup.
evile: I know you have lesson Sunday, but we're having a picnic at
Dottie Jordan on Sunday afternoon and you're welcome to come if your
lesson falls through or whatever. I posted the info in my LJ, sineater
can check for details if y'all are interested.
SkyeDS: where is DJ?
evile: it's the park by our house. Free swimming & tennis. Grills,
tables. Close to home in case I need to run and get anything. I
figured it was easy, good way to spend family time without having to
clean or kidproof the house.
SkyeDS: nodnod
SkyeDS: I have no idea what time we'll be back from Houston, lesson
this last sunday didn't start till 6 pm
SkyeDS: but I suspect that I will get an adverse reaction if I
suggest coming home from Houston, driving to Austin and then coming
home to teach
SkyeDS: but I"ll ask him anyway
evile: Well, no pressure. If things work out to where you can come,
fine, if not it's no biggie.
SkyeDS: we'd have to stop by home anyhow, to drop off the girls
SkyeDS: Bob will also be in town that weekend, and I don't think
we'll manage to see him either :(
evile: bummer.
evile: If it helps you to coordinate schedules, you're welcome to
invite Bob to join us at the park Sunday...
SkyeDS: his plane leaves at 11 am Sunday and doesn't get here till
8:40 pm Friday night
evile: good lord.
SkyeDS: and since I had planned to leave work and go straight to
Houston Friday...
evile: Prior committments...it happens, I'm sure Bob will be
understanding.
evile: This isn't Phyllis' Bob? I can't imagine him being able to
take such a long plane trip in his condition....
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: and I don't even bother saying anything anymore about him
eating solid foods
evile: wow. poor guy!!
SkyeDS: after he leaves AUstin he's flying to WA state
evile: another long trip!!
SkyeDS: we don't have anything planned for July 4
SkyeDS: I will ask sineater if he wants to venture into the Aunt L w kids
foray or not
evile: July 4 isn't at L&B's, it's being hosted by Elaine. Not sure
how far the invitation extends, but I can ask...
SkyeDS: but that kind of sucks, because now if you want to spend time
w Aunt L at all this summer...
evile: *dingdingding!*
SkyeDS: well, if we aren't invited to whatever's going on on the 4th
that's no big
SkyeDS: but it's the only weekend in July we have open, and June is
already gone
evile: The July 4 thing is...already icky. Sonya's brother and
his 'It's a clown car, not a vagina' mother of 5-going-on-6 Villagers
of the Damned are going to be there.
SkyeDS: only weekends open in July are the first weekend and the last
weekend.
SkyeDS: <knits both brows> who?
evile: Patrick's wife Sonya has a brother & sister in law who are
unusually prolific, selfish, and thoughtless.
evile: They show up with 7 hungry mouths to feed and NEVER, I mean
NEVER bring so much as a salt shaker to share at the potluck.
SkyeDS: we have met Elaine no?
evile: This July 4 thing is Elaine & her family, with Aunt L & Uncle B & Me
& Tom as sort of auxiliaries.
evile: I believe she's been at more than one Thanksgiving you've
attended.
evile: big lady with a soft southern Cajun accent.
SkyeDS: I am senile in my old age
SkyeDS: you, Sweetie, Uncle B, Aunt L & children as auxiliaries you mean
evile: I don't think Elaine really likes Sonya's bro and his spawn,
but it's kind of like WTF, Sonya will get pissy if her family isn't
invited....
evile: Oh, yeah, I'd forgotten about The Rubber Pig's 3. I am sure Elaine will
be thrilled.
evile: At least Aunt L brings food to share.
SkyeDS: lot of kids to have in your home
evile: indeed.
SkyeDS: be better to take them to a park.
SkyeDS: at least part of the day anyway
evile: I'm cringing. I may be coming down with something...*cough
cough* sorry to miss the 4th of July...
evile: Well, you and I are not organizing this thing, Elaine is. And
she'd rather be inside her house ...so...whatever. I agree with you
100%, FWIW (0 in this case)
SkyeDS: truthfully I would like to spend some part of the fourth in
the saddle for pleasure
evile: Well, then you should.
SkyeDS: it was hard not to jump in the saddle the minute I stopped
bleeding, regardless of how weak I am
evile: I bet.
SkyeDS: I wonder if Somerville would be too insane
SkyeDS: since I didn't make my bday
evile: *shrugs* I think there is a reservation system for the state
parks, you could always reserve a spot now
SkyeDS: good idea
evile: I used to have a customer # and everythng, but that was ages
ago & we havent' camped much lately
SkyeDS: don't know how "hot" those eq camp sites are.
SkyeDS: on holidays or any other time for that matter
evile: right.
SkyeDS: although Lorraine said it's empty at Thanksgiving and is the
best time to go
evile: wow, that's kinda cool!
SkyeDS: <sets about the task of firing a client, never fun
evile: yuck.
evile: I need to run to the Post Office during my 2:30 break. BRB!
SkyeDS: k

evile: I'm back. Lord it's nasty out there.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: at least 60% humidity, I bet...ick.
evile: decided to stir some crap. I think I told you about the little
guilt trip Pat laid on me for my b-day, whiney little card
message "Oh, we've grown apart, friends should not just drift
away"...so I sent him and his wife an invite for Sunday. Ball is now
FIRMLY in their court, and I will not be a bit fucking surprised if,
as always & usual, they can't even be bothered to reply with a 'no
thanks'. Asshole.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: Just so annoying. Either let me go and shut up about it, or
make some goddamned effort.
SkyeDS: :-/
evile: I get tired of hearing what a bag of cunts I am because I
don't do all the fucking work in every single relationship I have.
evile: Life gets tough when you take the doormat sign off your
head...it's like people are so shocked that you actually MIND being
used and doing all the work to keep in touch & be friends...
SkyeDS: nods
evile: "The floor! it talks!"
SkyeDS: there are going to be peoples in my life who are going to be
very shocked shortly
evile: Hopefully I didn't make the list this time 'round :P
SkyeDS: nah
SkyeDS: I tell you what goes through my head about the time it goes
through there :P
evile: yay. I am actually doing something right with 1 person in my
existence! *whee!*
evile: I am working on y'all's care pkg, btw. I did a bunch of
cleaning in my wk. rm this weekend & found some stuff you might like.
There's a shirt somewhere I want to give to sonar0m.
SkyeDS: you give us so much and we don't give you squat :(
evile: I don't want or need much...
evile: But I do understand that it can feel uncomfortable when you
feel like a charity case. Please don't :)
evile: I have stuff I'd rather see someone getting use out of rather
than having it taking up space in my closet and not getting used.
SkyeDS: I do that with gifts I've been given when I think they'll be
happier somewhere else
evile: yup :)
SkyeDS: I like things to go where they're happy and they make people
happy
SkyeDS: gave my synthesizers away as xmas gifts
SkyeDS: give a lot of little things to Brittany
evile: exactly.
evile: I'm happy. I have a menu, recipes, and a shopping list, and at
least 5 people coming on Sunday :)
SkyeDS: I should do that
SkyeDS: if anyone would come, being that I live so far away from
everyone now
evile: July 31 is a full moon...would be a nice camping/outside
weekend, regardless.
SkyeDS: want to?
SkyeDS: I haven't done anything spiritual like I ought to in a very
long time
evile: sure. I dont' do big ceremonial stuff. food, fire, that's
about the limit to my 'craft'
evile: (attention span of a housefly)
SkyeDS: I can do the formal ritual stuff by myself just as
comfortably, it only takes an hour anyway or thereabouts
evile: Assuming there is a drivable vehicle and Sweetie isn't using it,
I'd love to see the moon from your nice property in the country :)
SkyeDS: although technically I should do not only full moon but
Cornucopia too
SkyeDS: or maybe choose one or the other
SkyeDS: or do different nights I don't know
SkyeDS: requires thought
evile: you've got some time to think about it.
SkyeDS: we could have a get together regardless of ritual no? I can
do ritual while you and sineater visit, you can watch and laugh if you
like
evile: I would never laugh.
SkyeDS: I haven't done ritual in so long I'll have to read the whole
thing anyway, and my rituals usually turn out to be laughable in one
way or another (something always goes wrong)
evile: *shrug* unfo, mistakes are sometimes the best way to learn :P
evile: And god/ess must have a sense of humor...you've seen a penis
so you know this is true.
SkyeDS: lol
evile: As long as you get something positive out of your practice,
and feel that connection...that's the important part. IMHO.
SkyeDS: when I'm ready to try for Initiation, I'm not going to go do
ritual with Amberlyn, that's for sure
SkyeDS: that would be worse than driving with Mom in the car
SkyeDS: I already know things are going to go wrong in one way or
another, I don't care to memorize pages of stuff
evile: yup.
evile: BTW, I still have no clue where to shop in RL, but the latest
fire mountain catalog has camel bells & coins (chinese, unfo.), etc.
http://www.firemountaingems.com/
SkyeDS: I keep an eye on ebay.
SkyeDS: I'm going to buy a book of patterns regardless
SkyeDS: and if someone puts up something already made that I like
enough to pay what they want, I'll buy that too
evile: *nods* patterns are good. I do better with an existing piece,
but patterns are 2nd best.
evile: One of the yahoo garb groups had an equestrian pattern, but
you of course had to blow it up to get it to scale--hassle.
SkyeDS: noticed one set on ebay for like 600 where the blanket was
panne (like mine)
evile: wow. that's expensive, but not bad for native costume. Usually
they start around $1200 or so, what I've seen online anyway.
SkyeDS: good ones start at 3500
SkyeDS: but usually aren't to be found on 3bay
SkyeDS: err ebau
SkyeDS: dammit
evile: hee. I got it.
SkyeDS: I'm back to problem/square one, which is how to make one to
use with a western saddle
SkyeDS: all the ones already made are for use w/ english saddle
SkyeDS: and they really are more secure if they go under the saddle
(but I can't figure out how to do that and still get drape)
evile: I've noticed that...
evile: Well, time for me to run paper around to put in baskets &
boxes.
evile: Glad to hear that you're on the mend & hope work isn't too
hellish playing catch-up!
evile: *hugs*
