    Jun. 5, 2003

slept about 12 hours from 5:30 yesterday afternoon to 6 this a.m.
woke up when the phone rang around 10--it was my mom.

She is off to Montana to drop off her household furnishings from her
NM house, she'll be teaching blackfeet indians at the christian
    brothers mission or somesuch.

Then she & [stepdad] will make their way back to Indiana. Poor little
    Mooshi-cat. He gets carsick.

A couple things from the conversation:

    1. indian tribes are prejudiced and racist against one another. (sad!
but human--I see this in pagan groups, christian groups, enviro-
groups, etc. waste lots of time fighting among themselves over minor
variations in dogma rather than uniting for those causes they have in
    common)

    2. I've always been 'judgemental' and 'righteous', always had a big
sense of right & wrong. Mom is not surprised I reacted as I did in
the X sitch, and says that X has known me long enough, she
    should not have been either.

    3. she just read thru the letter quickly & didn't do anything other
than send it to me. X's never written anything that long before.
Mom wasn't sure what to think of it. Especially disliked the part
about me getting closure with the children (If I had responded to his
ultimatum of 'you have until tonight to say goodbye to my children'
he would have 'softened'...according to X. There is NO way I was
walking into that house under those circumstances. None. )

    4. 'nobody messes with my firstborn' was her response to me being a
little upset that she'd taken a side...no reason to, IMO. But...I am
a little gratified, I guess, that she took my side.

    ===========
Festive called right after that, he went to Vegas over Mem. day
weekend--had a great time, only lost $18. Only went to one buffet
(Mirage)! Excalibur was a madhouse. Loved the elevators in the Luxor,
saw the lions at MGM Grand and tigers at Mirage. The charro show he
had tickets for had been cancelled, but he saw someone else instead.
I want to say somebody Boone? ? don't remember. Invited us to stay
with him, or David, either one, when we come to town this weekend:)
    That was very sweet.

I love my friends & my family.

    ==========

I've been really hungry the past few days. No idea why. It's wierd,
because I know what real hunger is, like 'no money & no food for a
week' hungry..but you can't argue with your tummy & say "you're not
really hungry, you're [bored, sad, angry, whatever]"...it still feels
    hungry.

they just came out with 6 perfumes. I got all 6. at $3 a pop, that's
    not too bad...

    #1
With the sweetness of citrus and lychee, the elegance of jasmine and
lily of the valley, and the sensuality of musk and warm sandalwood,
Fragrance 001 is a dynamic scent that personifies woman's depth and
her multifaceted beauty. The perfect everyday, any occasion fragrance

    #2
This scent invites you closer with the charming innocence of mint,
cassis, and peach, then captures you with the irresistible allure of
rose, jasmine, and spice. Equally refined and rebellious, this
remarkable scent blends the playfulness of youth with the confidence
    of experience

    #3
This scent is for the woman who revels in the freshness of morning
air and the touch of grass beneath her feet. It combines invigorating
citrus with the healing aroma of maté tea, then evolves into rich,
comforting notes of laurel, lemongrass, vanilla, and cinnamon

    #4
The most delicate fragrance of our collection, Fragrance 004 evokes
the feeling of walking through a cottage garden. Redolent citrus,
spicy herb, iris, and musk surround in a comforting embrace of
freshness and romance, warmth and grace. This fragrance does not
overpower, so it can be worn everyday to accentuate a feeling of soft
    beauty

    #5
This scent weaves precious notes of fruit, jasmine, lily of the
valley, and Bengal rose into a song about femininity. This beautiful
scent evokes a golden age of sophistication, when glamour and
refinement were as important as strength and independence. A classic
    and timeless fragrance.

    #6
For the woman with boundless energy and true joie de vivre, we offer
this fresh and exhilarating scent. Fragrance 006 is an instant spirit-
lifter, blending robust notes of Japanese citrus with vibrant
florals. A hint of moss adds a touch of earthy sensuality

I think I will like #2 best and #5 second best.
I think I will probably not like #6 or #3 much.
    We'll see!
