    Friday:
Sweetie & I saw The Two Towers on Friday night. Michelle from HFS was
trying to get a big group together, but all of her plans seem to come
out rather clusterfucky. We got there, didn't see any HFS people, sat
down, and then I think eithe the previews had started or the movie
had just started and I turned and saw her a couple rows behind me and
to the left. She must have taken off as soon as the credits started
rolling, so I didn't get to say anything. Oh well.

I still think Viggo Mortenson is smelly-looking, and I still
think the elves look BAD. Even Legolas. That pale, puffy, receding-
hairline thing just doesn't do it for me. You'd think clean-living
forest folk would be healthier-looking. Anyway, it was a pretty good
movie, for all that. Lots of action. Felt sorry for Gollum. Got a
definite homo-erotic vibe between Frodo & Samwise.

    Saturay:

Eeyore's birthday. Bad traffic. We were going to get STephanie at her
place around noon, didn't get her until maybe 12:30. Parked near
Hastings & walked to the park--some of the trails were closed. It was
a hassle. I wore my punk rock Xena outfit, Tom & Stephanie were in
regular clothes. Ran into Jonathan, Andy & a cute girl in pink
deelybobbers right away, gave 'em hugs, then went to get beer. No
nonalcoholic for Stephanie. Said hi to the SIL and the HFS people.
Watched the drum circle, ran into Markus & Terri, Ruth & her doggie,
Jon, Andy & girly again, poly Jason, his son, his HOuston GF & her
daughter, then walked around, ran into Mandi. Saw Keith on the way
out. He was very cool dressed up as Bacchus. Sweetie ran into alot of his
VW guys. I only got a little bit sunburned. Sweetie got some on the back
of his knees & upper calves.

    Email to J-Law:

I forgot to tell you something funny that happened at Eeyore's. We
were hanging out in the high fantasy booth (they had good shade),
just kind of chatting and chilling out, when Skye, who was right in the
middle of talking some poor girl's ear off AKA: giving her a tarot
reading, stands up, loses her balance and does a faceplant into the
pile of crap she has beside her chair (drums, water bottles, milk
crate full of more crap, etc.). Arthur is in a chair kind of behind
her, and his chair starts to topple, so sonar0m grabs the bird and
gets him stabilized, and skye is shouting at him from the ground "The
bird is NOT the problem! *I* AM!!"...Sweetie just about lost it, he was
trying so hard not to laugh.

I did not realize that she is so heavy now that she can't do anything
to help herself when she starts to fall, or help herself back up, but
apparently that is the case. Very sad. Oh, BTW, here are skye photos
    from Saturday:

And I am thinking of sending her this as a fundraising idea:

After all that, I caught the tail end of a long day of HFS demo stuff
at UT. The Drandmir folks had done fighting demos all day & passed
out flyers & such, and then had "Court" scheduled for 7-10.
Unfortunately, I didn't get there until almost 8, due to traffic
created by a bunch of backwoods morons who didn't know what traffic
lights are for apparently going to some hick music performance at the
Erwin Center, so I missed some stuff. But I did get a nice visit with
folks & met Chris, a cool HFS guy from San Antonio who (of course,
now that I've met him & we bonded) is quitting HFS to spend more time
    with his motorcycle club. Dammit.

    Here's a picture of him:

    exciting.

evile: Court at UT was dull--be glad you missed it :)
    SkyeDS: I was at Eeyore's until 9 or I wouldn't have. I'm sorry it
    was dull :(
evile: There was one cool guy from S.A. who was up for the day.
Naturally, we hit it off, had a nice visit, mega-bonded, and he's
quitting HFS to spend more time with his motorcycle club :(
SkyeDS: wasn't Breugach/Chris was it? pretty lady with him name of
    Kirsten?
evile: no lady, just Chris, I guess.
SkyeDS: he has a slave/SO named Kirsten. they invited me for a 3some.
evile: oh, *that* was them :) cool.
SkyeDS: guess there might be more than one Chris, common name, but
    Chris/Breugach is distinctive.
evile: yup, that was him :) Very cool guy.
SkyeDS: very. I need to write him back soon.
evile: He said his work occasionally brings him to Austin, so it's
not totally off the mark to think we might cross paths again. He
doesn't go to scarborough faire though :(
SkyeDS: I will make effort to get him back up here ;-)
evile: He's cool. Plus he does the kilt thing. I'm all about the
    kilts...
SkyeDS: he's such a snuggly teddy bear type
    SkyeDS: great personality
evile: yeah, but a wicked teddybear. :)
    SkyeDS: best kind :P
    evile: yeah.
evile: I was dead tired all day Sunday & most of today...but Saturday
was totally worth it. I think we met up with just about everybody we
    know at Eeyore's.
SkyeDS: Eeyore's was exhausting and I didn't do anything but read all
    day and do bird duty
    SkyeDS: no walking, nothing
evile: It was hot, though. The sun really takes it out of ya.
SkyeDS: I still hvaen't got my voice back
    evile: wow :(
evile: I got some pretty cool photos, and also some that I am looking
    at and going "WTF?"...
SkyeDS: lol I just Friday night saw the photos of the priestess garb.
evile: Seriously tempted to do the pbase thing like rengeek so I have
someplace to store & show my pictures to everyone.
evile: It was pretty dark in there, the shutter speed on my camera
isn't great. But I did what I could with the court photos...
evile: And I have *got* to get better about being a diva and asking
people to take my picture...I have all these cool fun costumey things
and like *no* pictures of me in 'em. silly!!
SkyeDS: or you can come over or I can go over there and have a diva
    photo day for you
SkyeDS: did that for Chelle with the horses
    evile: I don't think I'm that diva, yet. :)
evile: Did you see the 'Elements'? OMG...they were quite
    inspirational.
SkyeDS: I didn't get to see anything. I worked all day :/
SkyeDS: people kept giving me money after I told them I couldn't
accept it, so it went as donations to BD.
evile: Dang, you should have done at least one walkabout. Granted,
Sweetie, Stephanie and I made one circuit of the park in about 4
hours...but it was cool to people watch.

I'm glad you made some $ for BD, that's cool. Maybe you can build up
a client base outside of your HFS stuff from that?
SkyeDS: I doubt it. They were giving $5 but they might not have
given the $25 it would have normally cost.
SkyeDS: I am thinking about reading for www.keen.com though
    evile: That would be fun.
evile: I don't know if this will work...

    27s+Birthday+2003/Dcp_0057.jpg?
evile: nope. dammit. I hate to post pictures 47 million different
places, but I guess that's what I gotta do if I want everyone to
    see 'em :P
SkyeDS: give me a sec and I'll try it
    SkyeDS: oh, nm
