    Taurus
    Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
Has a lot of money been disappearing from your bank account lately,
dear Taurus? The purchases may have been necessary or they may not
have been; either way they might have you in a temporary financial
crunch. It's nothing you can't handle with a little belt-tightening
until your next paycheck, but still, it can be frustrating. You'll
get through it. Remember, however: don't buy anything else that isn't
absolutely necessary until you're over the hump!

    Gemini
    Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
Is your significant other feeling restless, dear Gemini, and desirous
of getting away for a while - without you? This might be hurtful, and
could actually make you a little angry. However! You won't be helping
your cause by flying off the handle. Perhaps your friend needs to
escape and clear the cobwebs out of the old brain - without any
distractions, including you! Give your partner the benefit of the
doubt and keep yourself busy on your own.

Had a great time at Chuy's with the poly folk. Met 2 new folks, Pace
and Brandy. Talked more with Larissa, whom I met at Bryce & Angela's
    picnic. She is a sweetie.

It was a great time, lots of smart conversation, philosophy, "poly
and what it means to me", bla bla. It was awesome. Everyone in that
group is so nice and open-hearted and smart. I really like them.

Gave/got hugs at the end of the night, it was nice. Larissa and Pace
both gave me their email addies.

I have to say, I really like them. Even if Tom & I go on with our
monogamous hetero selves, I think I will continue to hang with the
poly bunch because they are just so cool.

Dreamt about finding a genie, and something about an Asian restaurant
in Dobie mall where the theatre is now. The genie was very bored and
tired of being immortal, and I realized pretty quickly that wishing
and having are not necessarily better than working and slowly
achieving goals. Instant gratification not necessarily a good thing?
wow..that's an amazing insight. So very Wilde. Wanting is better than
having, and There are only two tragedies in life: not getting what
you want, and getting what you want. :)

It was cool. Very positive & upbeat. Great bunch of people. I really
    like 'em.

745 Principles of Wiccan belief, where I disagree & why

  • Jul. 26, 2002

Principles of Wiccan Belief (as adopted by the Council of American
    Witches, April, 1974)

    1. We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of
life forces marked by the phases of the moon and the Seasonal
    Quarters and Cross-Quarters.

---------nope, not really. This stems from an agrarian lifestyle &
viewpoint, not very relevant to modern witches. My particular
eclectic path tries to allow a spiritual element in everyday, normal
life, to make of ones life a prayer.

    2. We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique
responsibility towards our environment. We seek to live in harmony
with nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and
    consciousness within an evolutionary concept.

----------Yes. This one is good. Wish more pagans (and other enviro
wackos) would practice what they preach. (including me)

    3. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to
the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary it is
sometimes called "supernatural", but we see it as lying within that
which is naturally potential to all.

    -----------Yes!

    4. We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting
through polarity - as masculine and feminine - and that same Creative
power lies in all people, and functions through the interaction of
masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing
each to be supportive to the other. We value sex as pleasure, as the
symbol and embodiment of life, and as one of the sources of energies
used in magickal practice and religious worship.

-------------------not into the sex magic thing, and not really into
duality. Godhead is neither masculine nor feminine, nor encompassable
by traditional understandings of what is male and female. Maybe makes
it easier to talk with God/ess if you can think of him/her as
anthropomorphic, but I don't buy that. Nor do I see it as being
anything outside & independent of creation.

    5. We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological, worlds
known sometimes as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconscious,
Inner Planes, etc. - and we see in the inter-action of these two
dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magickal exercises.
We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary
    for our fulfillment.

    -----------------------Yes.

    6. We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor
those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and
wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously give of
    themselves in leadership.

    ---------------sure.

    7. We see religion magick and wisdom in living as being united in the
way one views the world and live within it - a world view and
philosophy of life which we identify as 'Witchcraft - the Wiccan
    Way'.

    -------------?

    8. Calling oneself "Witch" does not make a Witch - but neither does
heredity itself, nor the collecting of titles, degrees and
initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within her/himself
that make life possible in order to live wisely and well without harm
to others and in harmony with Nature.

    -----------------YES!

    9. We believe in the affirmation and fulfillment of life in a
continuation of evolution and development of consciousness giving
meaning to the Universe we know and our personal role within it.

    ----------------------------good, I like it.

    10. Our only animosity towards Christianity, or towards any other
religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that it's
institutions have claimed to be 'the only way' and have sought to
deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious
    practice and belief.

    -----------------------yup.

    11. As American Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the
history of the Craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of
various aspects of different traditions. We are concerned with our
    present and our future.

    --------------------cool.

    12. We do not accept the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship
any entity known as "Satan" or "the Devil", as defined by the
Christian tradition. We do not seek power through the suffering of
others, nor accept that personal benefit can be derived only by
    denial to another.

    -----------------------------------yup.

    13. We believe that we should seek within Nature that which is
contibutory to our health and well-being.

    ------------------Absolutely!
