I am proud of me. I called E last nite to make sure he was ok. I
had heard on the news that some mobile home parks had been evacuated
due to tornados in the area. Turns out they were all located wayy
south, but anyway, I told E that if things got hairy, he and his
household were welcome to come stay at our house (yes, I did run the
idea past Tom first; and despite our dislike of A and our
indifference towards J, and our sort-of-ickies about the bird, we
agreed that they didn't deserve to die, so they should come take
shelter at our house if the weather got bad)
E seemed very touched by my offer, and I did mean it sincerely.
We may have our differences, I may have my opinions about his wife
and her situation, but when it comes down to it, family is family and
you take care of 'em.
The A's are all home okay, except ------, who was camping with
his class yesterday down near Kerrville. *eeeeeeeeeps!* I hope he is
okay. I sent X an email to call or email me when she has ------
safely home. What a suck camping trip.
Our house is fine, the creek didn't get up to our backyard level. The
roof/flashing interface leaked some. We will need to get that fixed.
I got Tom to agree to pay half of whatever it costs. (we have that
one estimate for $400 so that is how I ballparked it to him) Now, I
have asked Tom in the past for help and he has verbally agreed but
never followed through, so I am not holding up a huge hope that he
will actually do this, but I am proud of myself for bringing up the
subject and conversing sanely about it.
