64. Casting Yourself in a Favorable
Light
Your own being is lit beautifully,
suffused with the Creator’s radiance so everyone around you sees the
positive, beautiful aspects of yourself, as opposed to the distorted and
dark image projected by the ego.
We are now in the month of Virgo and
because the energy of this month creates a tendency to judge it assists us
in preparing for Rosh Hashanah.
Before Rosh Hashanah, you are
supposed to take stock of the good and the bad. To look at every single
act you’ve done and see it clearly—the negative and the
positive. If we don’t see our faults, we can’t move forward.
But since we can’t always see clearly for ourselves, we are asked to
find “judges” to help us. That’s plural—several
judges beyond our one spiritual teacher.
The Zohar
teaches that we should have the consciousness to want people in our lives
who can show us what we need to see, even if it hurts.
With
that in mind, try this:
Seek out several people in your
life—not just friends, but people you are in conflict with—and
ask them what they think you need to change. In addition to the people you
go to, everyone this month will act as your judge. Whatever criticism you
hear, take it as a blessing.
If you use this information to change,
then you can actually step out of the cycle of cause and effect.
It’s hard for us to see our faults at the seed level. We have so
many layers of negativity veiling what we need to see—things that
sometimes others see very clearly.
Also, at Rosh Hashanah, we get
the chance to renew the energy to pursue our dreams again, without our
curtains getting in the way. Write down on a piece of paper what you want
in your life. Include on this list all the dreams you ever had; things
that you wanted as a child, or even a few years ago. When you write your
list of dreams, don’t exclude “owning my own business”
just because you’re 50 years old and you think it’s too late.
This month you can reveal the obstacles that are blocking
you—the doubts, the fears, the calculations, and the wrong beliefs.
You need to look at what you want and what you came to this world for.
The energy might be very intense this week. You will see things
that you thought you had overcome, or you’ll find new things you
never realized you need to transform.
One of the important
things to remember is that the process of looking at your negativity is as
important as finding out what you need to change. This process gets you
closer to the Light.
The Light wants to fill our Vessels 100%,
but we don’t always let It in! When you go through the process of
finding out what you need to change, and when you make those changes, you
open your Vessel to getting more Light. Don’t feel overwhelmed about
all you have to change—think of all you will accomplish when you
reach Rosh Hashanah!
The month of Virgo is ruled by the planet
Mercury, and nature of the element mercury is that it flows easily and
quickly, slithering into empty spaces and filling them up. This is the way
the Light works, too. If you just point to the areas where you need help,
the energy of the Light this month will put it wherever it needs to go.

I don't always get to know why things happen.
I may spend hours, even days, trying to figure out why bad things have happened to me. I may get caught up in trying to understand other people, situations, and even my own thoughts.
Today I will accept that I don't have to know why things are the way they are. Instead I can pay attention to healing, growing, and learning.
