No. I do not think it should be legally required, because the entire internet does not live in the United States of AmeriKKKa.

I think parents should be more involved with their children, and stay aware of what their kids are doing, be it watching porn on cable TV or downloading porn from the internet. If they don't want their kids doing that, then the parents should be the ones to find and install watchdog nanny software, or, better yet, take their kids outside for some fresh air and exercise.

Next--what's so awful about naked boobs and people having sex? If I had a kid, I'd rather have them watching that than someone blowing people's heads off, blood gushing everywhere, and exploding body parts all over the place.

Finally, I shall leave you with this.

enjoy.

Agreed on all points. And, I have to tell you, the "warning" pages that I have on some of my adult sites do nothing to keep anyone out. Filtering software will do the job in most cases just fine, but there isn't any particular warning page needed for them to do that.

They do, however, improve my ranking with some of the major search engines, as they are quite text-laden. So I keep 'em. ;)

It's always nice when a parent agrees with my wacky ideas about child-raising. :P Makes me feel less like one of those awful child-hating FREAKS.(*tongue firmly in cheek*)

I think it's nice if a site voluntarily offers a disclaimer about the contents (sort of like how LJ offers each user a chance to set their journal's 'adult content' warning or not as desired.)

Plus, as you say, putting an 'adult' label on something often makes it more interesting than it might be otherwise.

Once upon a time, when I worked in telecommunications, I noticed a trend. People want you to do the work because they are lazy and refuse to take responsibility.

Kid surfing porn? You let them have a private computer with unlimited access.

You downloaded a virus? Not the ISP's fault you clicked an attachment from an unknown source.

Ran over your minutes? The cel phone company is not psychic.
That one got me yelled at by the customer for offending her. So did telling her my spiritual leanings. She asked. "Suffer not a witch to live" apparently includes don't let them work in cube farms.

And on a tangent to jenmarie - your photos are lovely. Thank you for sharing them.

Pleae let me elaborate - these were people demanding I solve the problem my employer burdened them with, not asking for assistance, like the webmaster of a sexually explicit domain asking how they could trade emails with Nana, without her seeing the domain name. Hotmail FTW.
