dear friends,
we want to make september 19th gathering our grandest and most well attended.
as you know, our gathering will be around the time of the autumn equinox, the ending of this very hot and miserable summer and the coming of fall.
that evening, we will gathering at midnight around the soon to be erected sacred stone circle, to be henceforth known as THE SEVEN SISTERS!
we hope for as many drummers, gypsy dancers, singers, howlers at the moon, children of fay, creatures of fantasy...magicians and fire twirlers...children, adults and the elderly.
sherwood is coming together quite spectacularly.
we hope to have a first rate faire that is centered around a community.
we want art and music and creativity and fantasy and a return to simpler, more noble ways of treating one another, as well as mother earth, to be at the core of our community.
we want pot lucks and get togethers to happen in the off season--and the faire not being the only time we all gather under the protection of these woods.
chivalry, clans, magic, rites and rituals, faith, christianity and pagan and eastern religions all meeting in common ground, the wisdom of our elderly not neglected, the freedom and passions of our children encouraging our visions, the prospects of the fay rejoining us in between the blades of grass and swaying tree limbs, a guild system where we learn from others, crafts and artisanry alive and prospering...
sing out to pirate ships passing by
stop the gypsy trains and let them know they are welcome in our fire circle within sherwood
tell the feeble and the strong to join us
our table round, our table overflowing with food and drink from all who come here to share
our places of worship welcoming all faiths
our belief in the forces of nature and a respect that we are dominant, but merely caretakers in this grove
let all know that sherwood is a sanctuary
let all know that sherwood is a faire of celebration
invite your friends and family to our september 19th gathering
we want the grounds teaming with kids
we want the stages bursting with entertainment
we want our stone circle crowded at midnight
bring the best of who you are to share with others
lets have over 500 folk within these sacred woods on that saturday evening
pot luck
bring lawn chairs
camping is encouraged
no open fires
soft drinks, water and ale provided by the faire
