quizzes & surveys
Nov. 19th, 2008 09:02 amI'd actually thought of retiring to Brazil someday...
Survey-type meme:
If you could have one thing right now what would it be?
More free time
Are you keeping a big secret right now?
I'm lousy at keeping secrets. The only way I can keep them is if I just flat-out forget I know. I'm pretty good at that :)
Is money important to you?
sure.
Do you prefer to be around people, or by yourself?
Depends on my mood.
Does internet gossip ever end in you sitting in tears at the computer desk?
Not since a couple years ago, when there was ridiculous Austin Poly Group Drama that I took personally. I don't take such things personally anymore, nor do I hold a position in the group where I could be expected to take such things personally anymore.
Where is the furthest place you've traveled?
Either Italy or the Phillipines, but that was when I was very small.
What jewelry do you wear ALL the time?
silver ring
Describe your bed
black queen platform with drawers. Just haven't put it together yet.
Do you have tattoos, piercings?
1 tat, 7 piercings (ears only)
What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
Steel Magnolias
What is your ideal marriage location?
*shrug* It's not a thing I'd want to do. (see 'marriage/kids' question below)
Does the thought of marriage scare you?
yeah.
Favourite fabric?
silk velvet
Have you ever been in a play?
Several, in Jr and Hi school, college, and community theatre
Have you ever had your heart broken?
Sure.
Have you ever been in love?
Yes!
What's the worst thing you ever said to someone?
I've said "I hate you" at least once to most of my family members. I'd give anything to take that every single one of those times back.
What's the most painful experience you've ever had?
I dunno. I block painful experiences from my mind. Physically painful was probably either when I broke my thumb or when I had abdominal surgery. Emotionally? nah, I can't remember it.
When's the last time you cried?
Coming home from San Antonio on Sunday.
Favourite communication method?
email
What were you doing at midnight last night?
sleeping!
Can you do the butterfly stroke?
I have in the past. No idea if I still can.
Can you run a mile in under ten minutes?
No.
Can you stand the sight of blood?
If I have to.
Do you want to get married & have children?
No kids, please. I am not really sure about marriage. It's a legal arrangement for things I don't really need to worry about--distribution of property and children. Weddings are a young-peoples' game. There is something kind of pitiful and ridiculous about an almost-40 year old dumpy frump swanning around in a white dress and playing Virgin Princess. I am neither, and want to be neither, not even for a day. So...I can't really see it.
Whats the first thing you did after you left your house today?
got in the car
Have you ever had a really big fight with a best friend?
yes.
xtallys slapped me so hard my glasses fell off when we were teenagers. I should have gone ahead and never spoken to her again after that instead of making up and letting the relationship drag on for 15 more years and letting her REALLY hurt me.
Tell us something about your ex?
I don't know anything real about my ex. He's tall and smells bad.
Someone who meant a lot to you at one point, and isn't around anymore?
He's at college in Waco. Hopefully he'll be around again soon.
What if they were back in your life?
Oh, we'd have lots of fun and adventures, laugh a lot and probably drink too much and I'd spend too much money, but it would be fun!
Are you growing apart from someone close?
Possibly. That's one of those things I just don't notice until I wake up one morning and realize I don't know that person anymore and can't remember the last time we spent any real time together.
Have you ever wanted to bottle up a moment and save it forever?
Yeah. That "Time in a bottle song" is so cheezy, but so true. I've had a lot of perfect moments in the last couple of years. I'm really really lucky, happy, and loved.
Ever truly wanted to kill someone?
Have and do. They're not worth the jail time, but if a perfect opportunity arrived, it would happen.
Is there one person who can make you feel better no matter what?
A couple, actually. And of course, my kitties & the dog :)
What is something you wish you had more of?
Time!!
The way to win your heart?
Be honest. Be generous. Be funny. Be strong enough to say what you think, want, and need.
What would you do with five million dollars?
Take care of my friends and family. Pay off debts.
Would you risk your life for someone else?
A family member or friend, yes. Strangers? I don't think so.
Have you changed this year?
Probably. Maybe not. I don't know.
Are you afraid of death?
Not really. I'm more afraid of being old and weak and alone for years and years before finally dying.
Have a crazy side?
Yeah, it's called PMS.
Regret something?
A few things. But regret is yet more time wasted on people and things that didnt' deserve as much of my time as I already wasted on them...so it's better not to regret, just learn and move on.
Do you open up to people easily?
It's wierd. I'm pretty honest with people, but at the same time I think I'm fairly guarded with certain parts of myself. I prefer not to flat-out lie, but I choose not to answer questions or guide the conversation elsewhere if it gets uncomfortable.
P. S!
