Urgent Help Needed at Capital Area Food Bank

The Capital Area Food Bank just put out an urgent call for emergency donations, saying that their donations are depleted, and that as of 2pm, no more emergency boxes could be filled onsite. They are using funds donated to buy more food, but if you are able to drop any food items off at the Food Bank, they are in desperate need of: peanut butter, canned meat (with pop-top lids), bottled water, and personal care items (shampoo, fem. hygiene, toothpaste, etc). Also desired: granola bars, diapers and wipes. The Food Bank, located at 8201 S. Congress Ave., will be accepting these donations through Friday.

well, i kinda had. i tend to have large lapses in these things. im doing ok, relatively. a friend of mine from the (dayton?) area isn't, and it reminded me of you. glad to hear you're alright

I'm going to emphasize the diapers, I've heard from someone who has been down there and finding out what people really, really need the most for their kidlets.

(Anyone have any gently-used premie clothing? Holler at me and I'll get you in touch with someone who knows who needs it at one of the shelters.)
