Blah. I never do these memes because I bold less than 10% of the movies.

But the ones I do bold are usually the odd ones, like Ed Wood and Y Tu Mama Tambien.

I wanted to see Ed Wood when it came out, but I didn't have anyone to go with me.

And my free time at home is rare and precious enough now that I really can't justify just sitting in front of the TV for 2 or 3 hours. If I got a quiet enough form of exercise machine I suppose that would be a good motivator, but that hasnt' happened yet :P

*Who* thinks these are the best movies of the last twenty years?

As far as I can tell, it's supposedly AFI's best list.

AFI being American Film Institute....or something?

Google searching, I find references to the list, but not the actual list itself.

There was just a few AFI list that came out last week (Top 10 in 10 genres, I think) and the 100 Years 100 Movies list. I don't think that's related to either. Good thing too. That list is ick!

First thing I see is Moulin Rouge at #10. Are you kidding? Even if you were just going for a Baz Luhrmann film, he did a much better job with Strictly Ballroom. If you're just looking for style you can throw in Romeo & Juliet too, though I hated the wardrobe in that.

I'm not sure. It's from a greeting card that was made from a piece of art by Rory Skagen.

http://www.roryskagen.com/

The webpage doesn't seem to be working right now.

The art was on display at Blue Genie and the greeting cards were in the gift shop. I just found the piece to be very....evocative.
