I am good with "vanilla kink" :) Most of my friends seem to walk that edge between totally vanilla & the less hardcore/scary aspects of BDSM (ymmv)...so "vanilla kink" does well as a descriptor.
Really, it's your LJ, write what you like. I can always choose not to read things I don't think I'll enjoy reading about. I didn't write anything ugly in anyone's LJ's about their flipside experiences, I was just remarking in my own that I was a bit squicked by reading about that one thing so many times that day.
