Jan. 20th, 2026 03:35 pm Gotta laugh a little; housemate Sam has spent the last 3 hours ordering grubhub(? doordash? whatever) from a restaurant that is literally less than 10 minutes' drive from the house. The system had somehow added a 1 to the beginning of our street address so it kept being delivered to someplace that looks to be about a 12 min. drive to our house. She has gone round and round with the driver, with the company, with the website, to finally get to the bottom of the issue, that extra 1 at the beginning of our house number. Hours. 3 hours. at least. And so much complaining to me about it. for something she could have driven and gotten herself for a 20 min round trip drive. She has a car. It works and everything. I just.... ...
....
Anyway. I have fed and walked dogs, gotten groceries, applied to jobs online, talked with a recruiter, and desperately would love a nap but it's too late in the day. I am making a 'taco casserole' for supper so I should probably go put that together.
Le sigh.
My cousin B. got a new job. It starts Monday. We will all be going out to dinner Friday night to celebrate. He's really excited. It's in a town near here, but hopefully should be an easy commute because it's not the I-35 corridor, and everyone is commuting TO town and FROM there, and he'll be going the opposite way. Eventually I'm sure that he'll get an apartment out there so the commute won't be as bad.
Political stuff is exhausting. I got no more to say about that.
