evile: Phone duty from hell at lunchtime today. :P But I get to go
home early!

SkyeDS: told sineater last night bout [brother A], so now he wants to hear all
of it from you
SkyeDS: Dad had a stroke last night, is still in the ER
evile: Got a message on the machine. sineater sounded pretty pissed-off.
Not necessarily the best approach...but we'll talk.
evile: Yuck! I'm sorry to hear about your dad!
SkyeDS: I have to remind myself that he isn't pissed off at me but at
the situation sometimes
evile: How is the rest of your family doing?
SkyeDS: ok, far as I can tell
SkyeDS: but Daddy can't see or otherwise respond, so I'm worried
evile: There is no point in being pissed off at [brother A] because he's in
love, he's stubborn, he's going to do whatever he's going to do and
we can either be part of his life & be there to catch him when he
falls, or we can be shut out. Our choice.
SkyeDS: I will let you tell sineater that
evile: It's gotta be tough to see someone you love in such a helpless
state. Not his first time in the hospital.
SkyeDS: he listens to anyone else before he listens to me
evile: heh. have made this mistake before with at least one loved
one in love with what I saw as a poor choice. will not do it again.
SkyeDS: as well he ought to know watching me handle my little sister
SkyeDS: who is now quite happily married to the only one of her men I
ever approved of
evile: I think the current husband is going to be the deal breaker,
anyway. It was his idea for [brother A] to take up with The Rubber Pig and he seems
to be regretting it now that they're all living together...
SkyeDS: that's very interesting (Capt Jack Sparrow)
evile: They've played this game before, from what I gather. The Rubber Pig
took up with another man/divorced Trey (in whatever order) got
knocked up with the middle child who's now 5, and then she and Trey
remarried.
SkyeDS: "but this time is different"
evile: sure.
evile: nobody stuck in a pattern sees the pattern.
evile: Oh well. I'm going to poly dinner tonight and then hopefully
will get home early enough to give sineater a call.
evile: Had a fairly rotten time at skate night last night & plus it
was too late to call when I checked the machine last night.
SkyeDS: I sorry :(
evile: It's probably just me, but I was approached by creepy jeff,
who alternated between apologizing for our misunderstanding/insulting
me/flattering me. It was ultra-bizarre and made me VERY uncomfortable.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: Oh well. I have my own skates. I can just find someplace
closer to home to go skate. parking lot or something.
SkyeDS: wish we still had a rink in Rockdale
SkyeDS: as it is I'll have to find one probably in Taylor or RR
evile: Sharjinka offered to 'take him out'...I should have said yes!
SkyeDS: lol
SkyeDS: I"m always offerin to kill people and my friends keep turning
me down :P
evile: he's not worth the jail time
evile: I thought Id solved the misunderstanding by saying I am taken,
I don't want to date, and I'm not available for sex...but no.
evile: Here's my pattern: guy hits on me, I tell him no, and he goes
and insults me either to our mutual friends or to my face....I guess
that helps his penis not feel so offended.
SkyeDS: /me nods
SkyeDS: dittos
SkyeDS: and in my case I don't even understand why they hit on me
evile: I was raised by hippie-mom. I dont' do physical violence. I
may have to revise this.
SkyeDS: besides being married, I'm old and fat and ugly now
evile: I'm old, fat, frumpy, spotty, bespectacled, and unfriendly.
And yet it does not stop them all. Just brings the freaks out of the
woodwork.
SkyeDS: what the fuck is wrong with these peeps
evile: No clue. If I knew what it was that attracted them, I could
remove it/cover it/ whatever.
SkyeDS: with me I think it's the idea that open marriage means I'll
sleep with anyone just because they asked
SkyeDS: therefore I'm a "sure thing"
SkyeDS: /me snorts derisively
evile: This guy Jeff accused me not only of sending a mixed signal,
but trying to set things up so I could fool around on sweetie. Um...what
part of 'no' did he NOT hear?
evile: And If I *was* going to fuck around on sweetie, why would I choose
a smarmy divorced dud from the skating rink? Why have bologna when I
have prime rib at home???
SkyeDS: /me nods
evile: So are you going to Texarkana this weekend, then?
SkyeDS: I don't know yet
SkyeDS: I cleared it with Hugh so I could
SkyeDS: and heard nothing from Kelly yesterday :(
evile: hopefully that means she was taking care of things on her own?
Feel free to give her our # if she wants sweetie to go out there and look
big & mean or anything.
SkyeDS: /me nods
SkyeDS: I'm going to give her your number, Sharjinka's number (because
she had to wrangle w/ insurance over this same thing not too long ago)
SkyeDS: annd if I leave this weekend ask her to house sit for me
evile: good plans :)
evile: someone sent me Jason Patric photos from the Alamo movie.
wow..he is so *not cute* anymore. And he was so adorable in Lost Boys.
SkyeDS: /me shrugs
evile: looks like he's had plastic surgery. I wish hollywood people
would just age gracefully....
SkyeDS: the Indians (from India) are experts at that
evile: yup. No harm in doing what you can to keep what you have...but
all that implant nonsense--ick.
evile: I catch myself wishing that tomorrow all the problem children
in my world will call me up and say "april fools!"
SkyeDS: rofl
SkyeDS: that would be nice
evile: very much so!
SkyeDS: if gramma and kelly would both call me and say the same
SkyeDS: and all the other entities I have to do businenss with
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: ad then I would be furious
SkyeDS: particularly with gramma and kelly
evile: well, that too.
SkyeDS: because that shit would'nt be funny
evile: no...but it would be nice to get all these burdens taken away
in one magic 'april fools!'
evile: Oh well. A lot of my problems are going away tomorrow--thye're
picking up my lease car.
SkyeDS: :-/
evile: mixed blessing, to be sure. But mostly for the good, I think.

  evile: bummer.
  evile: Well, we'll talk at some point, eventually.
  SkyeDS: Daddy apparently is in MRI, good bet that Mom is in there
  with him (cell phone not allowed) and Gramma is probably taking a nap
  SkyeDS: which is why I can't get anyone on phone
  evile: bummer.
  SkyeDS: and, chances are, when I say, should I come now or should I
  wait till the weekend, they'll say, oh no, you don't need to come at
  all.
  evile: Its' such a bad feeling being far away & feeling like you
  can't do anything & don't know what's going on....
  SkyeDS: the nurses are very forthcoming and helpful so far.
  SkyeDS: by law they don't have to be
  evile: that's good.
  evile: I'm getting a lotto ticket today after work. We're bout due
  for some good luck, I think. :)
  evile: That would be a pretty excellent April fool for my bosses,
  too :P
  SkyeDS: Hugh is frustrated so he went to the Y to punch bags
  evile: good plan. I'm going to take one hell of a walk when I get out
  of here. (early today! yay!)

  evile: The library eventually. I also need more books. But up
  thataway & around & such.
  SkyeDS: library on Guad and approx 7th right?
  evile: want me to pop by? I get off at 3:30 today. I dont know what
  your workload is like

  SkyeDS: don't know what time Hugh will be back, but I already offered
  to go for a walk with him. But he needed to go hit things.
  SkyeDS: I nodded adn said, well, I can't go with you to the Y to hit
  things

  evile: If you'd rather walk with Hugh, that's fine, too.
  SkyeDS: nah, I don't think he'll want to after the Y, he didn't
  yesterday
  SkyeDS: yesterday was the Y and tai chi

  evile: Okeydoke. Tai Chi is *awesome*...but kicks my ass.

  SkyeDS: I suspect it is like yoga, but I like yoga
  evile: Not quite. but similar.
  SkyeDS: guess I could look into doing UT yoga again on Mondays
  evile: I've got 10 min or so, I need to make my rounds & toss paper.
