evile: hey :) How was your weekend?
Rhino: Hey, you. =)
Rhino: My weekend was blessedly uneventful. The weekend before
involved booze, firearms, and ex-gfs, so I was happy for a dull one.
evile: *nod* I can see that.
evile: I could have used another day of weekend. Yesterday was death,
beer, toobin' & sex.
Rhino: thats a lot of day packed into one day.
evile: Yup. Peglegasus and my friend Nikiyoy were traumatized.

evile: I sort of feel bad for not feeling worse about the death...but
I really didn't.
Rhino: Who died?
evile: We passed an accident on our way to San Marcos to go tubing.
It looked like a pedestrian vs. an 18 wheeler
Rhino: Yeah, we know who wins those.
evile: yup.
evile: So Peg was drunk and belligerent for the rest of the day and
Niki was bitchy and truculent. It was neat.
Rhino: If nothing else, a reminder to enjoy the tube, beer, and sex.
Rhino: Oooh. Too few people use the word truculent.
evile: That's pretty much what I thought.
evile: *gives herself cool points* Gotta use that English degree
somehow.
Rhino: heh
Rhino: I made the mistake of pointing out the development team's
typesetting and editing problems today. Yeah, guess who got stuck
with that gig now? =P
evile: that'll learn ya

Rhino: Apparently not. Keeping my fool yap shut isnt my long suit,
it would seem. =)
evile: heehee. I know that feeling entirely too well :)
evile: I had a fun time watching Niki go from "Max is kinda cute"
to "OMG, he's awful!" yesterday. I am really so mean...but people
just amuse me.
Rhino: Who is Max?
evile: oops, sorry, Peglegasus=Max
Rhino: heh.
Rhino: the two didnt hit it off, huh? bummer. she's cute and seems
pretty smart from her lj.
evile: yeah, she is. But, in some really fundamental ways, she is 22
years old. Which becomes very obvious when she gets overwhelmed
Rhino: *nod* I dated a 21 yr old a couple years ago. Ran into the
same thing. Then there was the whole Hello Kitty/Furbie/Brittney
obsession thing. *shudder*
evile: *snicker* yeah. She's smart & cute, and in some ways very
ahead of the game. but also somewhat selfish, shallow, and fickle. I
am sure I was worse at that age :P
evile: Niki likes Happy Bunny.
Rhino: Heh
Rhino: Yeah, I decided that no matter how attractive or libidinous or
culturally literate, I wasnt dating chix doing their "I'm hot and I
know it and its a privlege to spend your time with me" phase anymore.
evile: Good plan. I'm in my Goddess years, so I know I'm hot & have
better things to do than chase boys, but I'm not a snot about it...I
don't think, anyway.
Rhino: *nod* Women are at their best when they move from vain and
selfish to confident and assured.
evile: I'm still pretty selfish, IMHO. Heck, it 's one of the main
reasons I have cats, not kids.
Rhino: Selfish by itself isnt awful. Vain + selfish = poor company
evile: I'm probably vain too. *shrug* But I try not to be obnoxious
about it :)
evile: I'm vain, yet confident. I guess that makes the difference. I
don't need anyone to tell me I'm hot, I don't need to be the star of
the show.
Rhino: Those are the best. Mrowr.
evile: :) I think so.

back on tinyTIM

Rhino: Im glad Im not the only one who does that. =)
evile: Silly.
Rhino: man, is it 330 yet?
Rhino: hell, is it friday yet?
Rhino: <head-desk/>
evile: I hear ya. I have so much to do before Saturday, work time is
taking away from my 'getting stuff done" time.
evile: How are you enjoying your vacation from LJ, BTW?
Rhino: So far so good. I need to set up some filters or something.
Between Angie and my mom, the two of them beat me up about everythign
I say on there. I hate to start locking my posts but sweet pan-fried
jesus, its just a blog. know what I mean?
evile: *hugs*
evile: Yeah...I hate that. I've had to invent a bazillion filters for
just that reason. Some daysI think I should just go the way of my
brother sineater and delete the whole mess.
Rhino: I've given it some thought.
Rhino: Hell, ive been thinking about chucking the crackberry into
Lake Calhoun and carrying a real phone where people can't email me on
it. I totally stopped bringing my laptop to the coffeehouse with
me. Its just a moleskine, a couple of pens, and my ipod.
evile: there ya go.
Rhino: convergence is highly overrated.
evile: I might have to get that tattooed on myself somewhere...
Rhino: LOL
Rhino: I keep thinking about some new ink. Or maybe getting my
earrings put back in.
evile: maybe translate it into kanji first so it'll look pretty.
evile: I still didn't get my birthday handcuffs.
Rhino: Arabic is much prettier than kanji. =)
evile: in this political atmosphere, I don't think I want arabic on
me permanently.
Rhino: heh
evile: then again, I'm sure that once we're done with the middle
east, it will be on to the next set of enemies. It's all very 1984
these days.
Rhino: yeah, that whole end of the cold war didnt mean peace, it just
meant looking for a new bad guy.
evile: Gotta keep our corporate buddies in bidness, after all.
Rhino: =)
evile: *sigh* cynicism gives ya wrinkles, I hear.
evile: OK. done with my daily quota, can't leave til 4:30, and have a
ton of stuff to do at home. *sigh* They really ought to let me drink
at work.
Rhino: agreed!
Rhino: its noon somewhere.
evile: There's a nice bar within walking distance...wonder if anyone
would notice if I disappeared and came back to sign out at 4:30 :P
evile: Oh, ack. Niki just put her foot in the fire ant hill over on
my looney SIL's LJ. This ought to be interesting.
evile: yes, my SIL is bugfuck, but it really doesn't do anything to
bring it up in conversation.
evile: I am practicing the "ignore it and maybe it will go away"
school of thought these days.
Rhino: LOL

evile: And little discordian banishing rituals every new moon.
Rhino: I prefer bashing rituals. *WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP*
evile: *giggles* (yes, you made me giggle out loud at work...)

What a great mental image THAT is. :)
evile: Well, I'm going to run around putting paper in other people's
boxes and maybe pilfering in the supply closet. That should kill the
last few minutes :)
