SkyeDS: well, the usual drama plus some, but otherwise quite lovely
SkyeDS: the boys competed for the first time
SkyeDS: Sonar0m won beginners and sineater won intermediate

SkyeDS: against fields of five and four respectively, I'm very proud
of them both
evile: awesome!
SkyeDS: they made a photo CD, and there are lots of pics of the boys,
the girls and Arthur, so we ordered one
SkyeDS: I worked half a day Thursday

SkyeDS: during which Sharjinka msged sineater with drama, which he then
pasted to me

SkyeDS: we went out there a couple of weekends ago, rode down the
hike & bike trail, they were fighting down in the hollow, and they
spilled out of the hollow, across the hike & bike trail, nearly ran
over us, and then complained that we were in their way.

SkyeDS: and nobody bothers to say a word to us, no, because you see
I'm so hard to talk to.
SkyeDS: so they say it to Sharjinka, who then says it to sineater
SkyeDS: no names of course
evile: Imagine what the poor shmucks trying to hike or bike must have
been going through..

going to discuss it further (and I'm going to be pissed, at him,

going to tell her, well, you tell them to come talk to me

complaining to us

SkyeDS: so my response was, fine, no more riding privileges for
Drandmir and we'll go down to the other end of the park
SkyeDS: because I didn't know what other response they wanted,
because they didn't offer a solution
SkyeDS: and oh, Sharjinka did NOT like that solution

mundane the way you nearly ran over us.

SkyeDS: what did you do this weekend?
evile: Sharjinka's bday saturday, couch shopping,errands, & roller
derby with Sweetie Sunday.
SkyeDS: shopping :)
evile: We did not find a couch. But we may have a new one in time for
Mom & [Sister H]'s visit...hopefully.
SkyeDS: hope they have a good time. It's already headed towards
ungodly hot
SkyeDS: but then by now usually it's a lot hotter than this, so
perspective I guess
evile: *nod* I just about passed out last night at Thunderdome.
evile: Some hipster asshat parents had infant in stroller out at this
event. Pepole, when *I* care more about the health and well being of
your offspring, it's a good chance that you SHOULD NOT have bred nin
the first place....
SkyeDS: one might think that parents get a gene to help them with
their parenting instincts
SkyeDS: but apparently not
SkyeDS: they shot off fire crackers right next to the horses at
TripleAA
SkyeDS: and then they had these kids running around in a go cart that
weren't supposed to be there
evile: Let's take a babe-in-arms to an event that's HOT, Humid, full
of various kinds of smoke, fire-eaters, 40,000 decibel satan music
full of god-damns and fucks, and people whizzing around on skates.
Yeah...
evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: and then the usual mundanes riding their horses right through
the middle of camp
evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: 1100 people there
evile: wow.
SkyeDS: 200 or 300 of which were kids
evile: *shudder*
SkyeDS: lots of accident potential with mundane horses and gocarts,
etc.
SkyeDS: when they set off the fireworks and I realized *where* they
were setting them off, I ran from the feast hall in skirts all the
way back to camp
SkyeDS: to discover the head marshal's horse loose
SkyeDS: and nobody there
SkyeDS: what are people thinking?
evile: I thought I'd descended into the lowest level of hell when J-Law
& I took that godawful Carnival cruise. But, no. There's a Carnival
Cruise themed 'goth'. Oh, okay, th ere's the bottom of the barrel.
No, apparently several of the Goths are bringing their offspring.
Okay, that's HELL.

evile: People just don't think...that's the main problem.
evile: I am waiting for government creches instead of nuclear
families to raise children...more and more parenting duties are being
foisted off on the schools as-is, why not just take the little
dumplings off to government facilities as soon as they're born?
SkyeDS: I still think that making parents who want good educations
for their kids, pay for private schools or home schooling on top of
public schools is wrong
SkyeDS: I think making people who choose not to have kids pay for
public schools is wrong
SkyeDS: and I still think that privatizing schools would solve a lot
of problems
evile: *shrug* Having children is a lifestyle choice.
SkyeDS: then the schools would be more answerable to the parents who
actually give a damn
evile: I dont' think it's any more wrong to ask a parent who wants
private school to pay for it than it is to ask a boat-owner to pay
for his spot in the marina.

don't give a damn?"
SkyeDS: well, they're problems ANYWAY already

SkyeDS: and confiscating wealth to pay for government babysitters
isn't working now is it
evile: I will probably wholehaartedly embrace the Facist president
who actually wants to kill undesirables...

SkyeDS: but I don't want to pay taxes so that you can have a slot in
the marina for free
evile: Unfo, we have no say in what our taxes are spent on, other
than (perhaps) voting.
SkyeDS: we pay more taxes now than we went to war with England over
in the first place

SkyeDS: I would just like the right to fire people when they don't do
what I paid them to do, and do it right

evile: I am hoping I will have enough $ saved (by not having kids) to
take care of myself and choose my own nursing home. And if I ever

to off myself with some dignity instead of letting little entitlement
shits abuse me for years first.

highly illegal, ungodly profitable things.

evile: There are plenty of people who have basically outgrown HFS and
can't learn any more or improve anymore, but don't want to ttake the
chance to go to a next level.

different. Most people could give a shit....

SkyeDS: mom called this morning before the 8 am lesson I don't know
why I agreed to give every Monday, to make sure I was coming this
weekend for the family reunion
evile: they are a moderate amount of fun. Voyagers is better, but
outgrowing its beginnings & becoming a clique rather than a beginners
how-to group, IMHO.
evile: it's a nice 'out' for Sunday afternoon/evenings. "Gotta go,
lesson tomorrow!"...get away from tedious people if you need.

evile: I can't wait to be done with work. I have to get stuff to make
for coworker fatass breakfast tomorrow. And Krav Maga is tonight.

evile: I stayed up too late Sunday...but that's what happens when you
mess up your sleep over the weekend. I could not get to sleep at my
regular time, even though I knew I had to get up at the crack.

SkyeDS: I was thinking we'd leave earlier than we did
SkyeDS: but Lorraine is so nice to us, we stayed to help her pack up
evile: that tends to happen....
SkyeDS: and it takes hours longer to pack her up than to pack us up

SkyeDS: this pattern seems beginning to form, of being out way too
late on Sunday considering an 8 am lesson on Monday.
SkyeDS: but I have more control over when I leave the reunion this
coming Sunday
SkyeDS: and hopefully when we leave CRW next

town late, or ask sineater to come to Austin, period. I don't want y'all
to feel like you have to go so far out of your way....just say
when/where you're going to be and I can make some effort, too...

SkyeDS: we've been to SGP coupla times in the last month or so
SkyeDS: he didn't go with 4th of July which is probably good
considering the crush

have come out. (tried to anyway)
evile: I probably would not have enjoyed July 4 at the park,
either...I can totally empathize.
SkyeDS: I will try to do better when we up and leave by the seat of
our pants (as SGP tends to be) to call and let you know
SkyeDS: and no one will expect you to be there when you get last
minute notice
SkyeDS: matter of fact, I'm still getting used to plans NOT being
last minute.

planned like every weekend from here till the end of the year and
into next
SkyeDS: it is staggering even just to go to all the equestrian events
evile: SCA=too high maintenance.
SkyeDS: I just can't imagine people that go to ALL of them

as badly as the Belted Circle in HFS do
SkyeDS: and I watch the cliques within the limited scope of the
Equestrians

SkyeDS: and my boys have the chance to distinguish themselves

scenery around me) are infinitely more sophisticated
SkyeDS: and my bonds with my SCA friends are closer than my bonds
with my HFS friends even tho I've known most of them longer

on around me in one place than in the other

evile: Why I tend to skip most stuff & not do groups. None of it is
worth the BS or the drama. Nobody gives a shit whether I'm there or
not, so why waste my time going and risk being upset by some asshat
trying to pick a fight?

evile: the polys do not actively discourage me from being there, but
I don't think any of them give a shit whether I'm there or not. If it
becomes too problematic to attend gatherings, I will stop.

evile: But from what I gather, she got what she wanted her first
throw, so she wont' be casting into the poly waters again until she's
done with what she caught.

know about horses.
