on this drive, I passed the sign for Karnes City as you do when you're on 37 S & briefly considered going to KC to look at the old place, maybe put some childhood ghosts to rest. I looked on the map & it's a considerable ways off 37 once you exit.
Thought about my dad making that drive to come get me & realized what an act of love that was, totally taken for granted by me.
And felt like a heel for not keeping in better touch, at least making a minimal effort, something. :(
