    11:48 am: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocrites:

Hypocrisy is the act of pretending to have beliefs, virtues and
feelings that one does not truly possess. The word derives from the
late Latin hypocrisis and Greek hupokrisis both meaning play-acting
or pretence. The word is arguably derived from hypo- meaning small, +
krinein meaning to decide/to dispute. A classic example of a
hypocritical act is to denounce another for carrying out some action
whilst carrying out the same action oneself.

    "Unclean Hands:"

A legal doctrine which is a defense to a complaint, which states that
a party who is asking for a judgment cannot have the help of the
court if he/she has done anything unethical in relation to the
subject of the lawsuit. Thus, if a defendant can show the plaintiff
had "unclean hands," the plaintiff's complaint will be dismissed or
the plaintiff will be denied judgment. Unclean hands is a
common "affirmative defense" pleaded by defendants, which must be
    proved by the defendant.

    John 8:7:

But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to
them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone
    at her."

Moral of the story: Don't be throwin' pebbles and gravel at me when
you be layin' up in a glass domicile. Eventually, I will find big
rocks and throw them back at you.

    Artist: The Dresden Dolls
    Song: Gravity

gravity plays favorites i know it cause i saw
honest to god officer it's awful
down at work i'm getting too familiar with the floor
showing off my talents by the mouthful

hate to break it to you but its out of my control
forces go to work while we are sleeping
if i could attack with a more sensible approach
obviously thats what i'd be doing

    now
    necks are cracking sideways
hit me from the back side
i am on the white side
you are on the black side
cut a piece thats bite size
shoot me from my good side
if you got a straight line
this would be a good time

gravity works slowly if you notice it at all
some of us are getting mighty lucky
if you had to live with this you'd rather lie than fall
you thnk i can't fly well you just watch me

    now
    necks are cracking sideways
hit me from the back side
i am on the thin side
you are on the fat side
cut a piece thats bite size
shoot me from my bad side
if you got a straight line
this would be a good time

the sky is always falling down on me
    so officer forgive me please!

evile: Happy Halloween :) I didn't dress up for work.
SkyeDS: <only because it is one less thing to do when I get home
before we trek out to Taylor to trick or treat with the entire Family
    evile: *nod*
evile: I didn't feel like being laughed at.
SkyeDS: and it really isn't much - or doesn't feel like it anyway
because it's stuff I wear every weekend
SkyeDS: everyone here is terribly impressed, but then, that doesn't
    take much
    evile: *nod*
evile: I was out of ideas one year and wore ren garb and some woman
actually laughed in my face...so that's pretty much the end of me
    wearing Halloween costumes to work.
SkyeDS: where I work is not as discouraging of my creativity as where
    you work
    evile: *nod*
evile: Oh well. I'm dressing up before we go out for the evening, and
    that'll be fun.
evile: *laugh* good LJ entry. I'm sure the person(s) for whom it is
intended won't get it, nor will anyone who ought to get that lesson.
    Oh well.
SkyeDS: the people for whom it's intended aren't going to see it
SkyeDS: I d ont' think anyway
SkyeDS: but I don't care, I just needed to vent
SkyeDS: has to do with events this weekend
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and anyone vain enough to think it's intended for them, all I
have to say about that is (and I quote you) "if the shoe fits wear
it" and I don't give a damn if it's painful.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and I'm about tired of censoring myself because of what
    pointyhead is taking what personally
SkyeDS: I don't do readings for kaleon. When I rant about something
that happened at an SCA or other event over the weekend, it has
    nothing to do with kaleon
SkyeDS: NOTHING I have posted, since I left him Valentine's Day what
a year, two years ago? has had anything to do with him
SkyeDS: and if he is pointyheaded and vain enough to think otherwise,
well no amount of Carly Simon's You're So Vain is going to get
through, and I don't give a good goddamn flying fuck anymore.
SkyeDS: After this weekend, I have much bigger problems then him
refusing to let go, move on and being vain and pointyheaded.
SkyeDS: as the bull said to the fly who apologized for bothering him,
I didn't know you were there, and won't notice when you are gone.
    evile: What happened this weekend?
SkyeDS: we got into trouble for mistakes made by other people
    SkyeDS: deep, serious trouble
    evile: Yuck.
evile: Was this SCA, HFS, ranch stuff, or ???
    SkyeDS: SCA
    evile: Sorry to hear it.
SkyeDS: yeah, well, so, I know that kaleon doesn't believe or
understand this, but my life does not revolve around him anymore, and
    hasn't since I left him.
evile: *nod* Well, I don't know diddly about SCA, but if it will be
helpful for you to rant at me about whatever happened, go ahead. And
if not, that's cool too. I always hate getting in the shit for things
that I had no part in doing.
SkyeDS: a bunch of brass hatted officials fucked up big time in any
number of ways, and then after robbing us of our money tried to ruin
our day and then reported us to Crown
SkyeDS: and every brass hatted friend we have had to dig us out of it
SkyeDS: they broke any number of rules, we didn't, and they tried to
palm the blame off on us.
SkyeDS: which hasn't worked, but our reputation is still tarnished
further, and one more tarnishment, even though we have yet to break a
rule, will get us thrown out
SkyeDS: anyway, the Kingdom Lawyer, who is also the first Equestrian
in the Kingdom, is taking it up for us. Randy already did all he
    could.
SkyeDS: and that is a VERY long story, short.
evile: wow. that sounds really sucky.
SkyeDS: sineater is going to shoot t hem in the face with a bazooka
shortly and I'm not going to stop him this time.
evile: Sad...it's supposed to be a fun thing...sad that people can't
    keep it fun.
SkyeDS: the only reason I pay dues and go to events is to ride with
    Laura and Linda
SkyeDS: they pull my riders card, and we'll just quit
SkyeDS: it isn't like we need the SCA OR the HFS for that matter, to
garb up, bard the horses, and ride any damn place we want
    evile: yup
evile: I saw horses in a homecoming parade for RHS on my way home
    from work Friday :P
    SkyeDS: loves parades!!! :D
evile: It was blocking between me and home & my evening's plans, so I
didn't love it. But I did see horses.
SkyeDS: bought jingle bell bracelets that fit around the hooves
SkyeDS: prettiest sounding bells I've found so far
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: already had the big pretty bells with poinsettias for the
    saddles
SkyeDS: but these are much louder and more melodious
SkyeDS: so now you can hear us coming from three miles away - the
purpose for bells, more than anything aesthetic, is safety
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: I just told a friend to have fun storming the psketti
    evile: ?? OK....
SkyeDS: she went down to get lunch, a nd they were out of spaghetti
and she didn't want a sandwich
    evile: aha.
SkyeDS: so I kept her company until she went down to see if there was
    more spaghetti up
SkyeDS: hence, have fun storming the psketti
    evile: *nod* OK.
SkyeDS: I have heard children call it pasketti and sketti
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: ok, so I'm not funny, except to Arthur, and except for when
I'm making a fool out of myself (which is quite frequently
    actually) :P
evile: If I'd been there, or had context, I would have gotten the
joke. Otherwise it was just a bit too surreal for me :P
SkyeDS: PRH is a nice place to ride/camp. Have to go there more
often (which is true of Lake Somerville too)
    evile: what's a PRH?
SkyeDS: when a SP decides to outfit for Equestrians, they go all out
    SkyeDS: Parrie Haynes Ranch
    evile: Oh, OK then.
SkyeDS: big old pole stalls, round pens, water, electricity, shade,
    and superlative trails
SkyeDS: ranch houses with full kitchens, et
    evile: sounds cool.
    SkyeDS: etc
SkyeDS: natural composting toilets if not flushies
    SkyeDS: I like
evile: composting toilets, if properly maintained, are not unpleasant.
SkyeDS: hell of a lot better than portapotties
    evile: yup!
SkyeDS: the only way you knew these were composters and not flushies
were, no handle with which to flush
SkyeDS: all the hardware was flushy quality hardware.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I might like to invest in those if I get many more boarders
evile: They have them at Lothlorien, they're cool.
evile: I don't know what those Indiana pagans are doing, but they are
doing it a lot better than anything I know of in TX.
SkyeDS: I think that IN case where the judge put in the divorce
decree that the Wiccans couldn't raise their son Wiccan got
    overturned already (speaking of IN)
    evile: cool
evile: crap like that is definitely in my list of reasons why I got
    sterilized.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: Had a very nice conversation re: children, homeschooling,
adoption, etc. People were so respectful and decent about everyone
else's respective choices. It was really nice.
    SkyeDS: where was this?
evile: the party I went to.
SkyeDS: this weekend at Kulilinei's? that sounded perfect.
    evile: It was really nice.
evile: Met a 47 yo CF woman, who didn't look a day over 25...not a
wrinkle on her. I want to peek in her medicine cabinet & see what she
    is doing!
evile: I spoke too soon when I said it was drama-free, though.
    soemthing happened Sunday a.m. after I left...but that's a pretty
good track record, friday night to sunday a.m. with no drama of any
    kind.
SkyeDS: completely drama free life would probably be boring anyway
evile: Actually, I *really* enjoyed it.
evile: knighthorse and Kulilinei have a nice bunch of friends. And lots of good
    cooks :)
SkyeDS: I have not spent much time with Kulilinei in person but I highly
admire her through her LJ writings
evile: she's pretty quiet in person, it takes a while for her to open
    up
SkyeDS: when I have time I should cultivate her in person more often
SkyeDS: but I'm pretty happy with admiring at a distance right now
    evile: *nod*
evile: Pretty sure they'll be at poly dinner this week.
SkyeDS: she is kind to have added me to her friends list so that I
can benefit from the workings of her inner mind
evile: She's worked hard to get where she is. It's nice to benefit
from insights that have been so hard-won. :)
    SkyeDS: amen
evile: out of all the SBC, she's the one with the most patience, I
    think.
SkyeDS: I'm glad she's cut the drama from her life with knighthorse
    SkyeDS: she doesn't deserve it
evile: knighthorse and Kili had a lot of history...there were things he
needed to learn from being with her, and I think being with Kulilinei and
becoming a father taught him even more, to take him to the point
where he didn't need the drama anymore.
    SkyeDS: good
evile: knighthorse is a good person, he's smart and talented and funny and
sweet. I am sure Kili has some redeeming qualities that we just don't
see, for him to have loved her and stuck by her for so long.
SkyeDS: people in poly relationships have to be super courteous for
it to work, towards all the other people
evile: But people do out-grow each other sometimes, or just grow in
    different directions.
SkyeDS: I've had to rid myself of SOs who didn't respect that
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I find it funny that some people claim sineater as their friend,
    past or present
SkyeDS: when they did their best to take him out of the picture
    altogether
evile: Time passes, people remember things differently than they
were. They say the memory is the 2nd thing to go as you get older...I
can't remember what the first one was.
    SkyeDS: awfully convenient
evile: why I write things down :)
evile: [Cousin B] and I were talking about drugs, and I had remembered my
first (& up til recently ONLY) experience with Ecstasy as much more
    fun than it actually was.
evile: Went back to my paper journals from that time and found that I
really didn't enjoy myself much at all.
evile: Time does play tricks on the memory.
SkyeDS: I'll keep my comments to myself
    evile: OK
SkyeDS: dark and raining now, I hope it gets over with before trick
    or treating time
SkyeDS: of course doesn't mean it's doing this in Taylor either
evile: the forecast says it will.
evile: if it's raining after the play, I'm not going to 6th St. Sweetie
and Peglegasus can go it alone.
evile: [aunt L] says [Cousin B]'s friends all flaked out on him. They were going
to 6th st, too. I imagine they'd rather hang out in somebody's garage
and smoke pot. If nothing else, I think (hope) I've taught [Cousin B] the
difference between real experiences and spending time & $ on
    chemicals.
    SkyeDS: nodnods
evile: speaking out directly against them would be unproductive--them
disappointing him with unreliable flakeyness will teach him more than
    any lecture I could deliver.
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: Sit around and do nothing in some pokey little nothing place
like Boerne, sure, but this is AUSTIN, if you can't find something
REAL to do with your time, you're not trying very hard.
SkyeDS: I remember my first roomie at UT complaining about how there
was never anything to do in Austin
    SkyeDS: she was from Dallas
SkyeDS: I said, come home with me for a weekend
SkyeDS: I'll show you the meaning of nothing to do
    evile: *laugh* yup!
SkyeDS: matter of perspective I guess
evile: I was bored at Depauw, but drugs just never seemed like a good
    way to entertain myself.
evile: If I was ever going to become a drug user, that would have
    been the time.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: oh well, off to do errands
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
