evile: had to reboot--my launchcast wasn't working, for whatever
reasons.
SkyeDS: thank you so much for all the awesome links!
evile: you're welcome. I had that list stored from last time I was
looking for tribal/turban pictures. I noticed one of the links didn't
work, after I posted it. Oh well.
SkyeDS: <being bad, Skye, bad....bbq brisket, potato casserole and
fudge brownie for lunch. with diet caff-free coke
evile: sounds good to me.
evile: Have you tried the diet coke w/splenda? It's not bad.
SkyeDS: haven't seen t hat yet
SkyeDS: and still want to try diet cherry vanilla dp
evile: that's good stuff :)
evile: My launchcast quit again. dammit.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: thankfully my coworkers have quieted down enough that just
having headphones on blocks most of them out.
evile: Okay...the music is back. Apparently my antispyware thing
decided that launchcast was bad and wouldn't let it play. All of the
sudden, like. Wierd
SkyeDS: :\
evile: So much for DIY spyware protection.
SkyeDS: haven't been able to access email all day >-(
evile: that sucks.
evile: I sent you email yesterday afternoon/evening too. I found
these cute B&G parrot pins that I thought would be a nice Kumpania ID
type thing.
SkyeDS: I saw that, thank you!
SkyeDS: did some brainstorming after you sent that, about what else
we could do too. Came up with horse pins, raptor (falcon or
whatever) pins, and I already have a Pegasus pin I love (that
combines the horse and bird thing kinda)
evile: *nod* I like your pegasus pin, but was thinking it would be
hard to find quantities of it so everyone could wear one.
SkyeDS: right
SkyeDS: I was thinking if we found pins that were cheap enough we
could have more than one
SkyeDS: ie, a bird one, a horse one, etc
SkyeDS: I'm likely to invest in the blue and gold pin just to have it
regardless
evile: *nod* All the chaos people wear the same symbol, as well as
the Dragons of the Round table, etc.
evile: I think the Dragons modified theirs by having different beads
on the necklace along with the main dragon pendant.
SkyeDS: Laura & Linda have viking treasure necklaces
evile: A viking character would be fun to do.
SkyeDS: the cool thing about vikings and romany is, you can do just
about anything you want without giving ammunition to the nazis.
SkyeDS: they came into contact with every known culture in every
period.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: it allows me to mix european and middle eastern to my heart's
content, early period, late, whatever
SkyeDS: and it isn't a stretch to be in persona either (for me anyway)
evile: yeah.
evile: I don't really care about being in character; I just like
dressing up.
SkyeDS: I like being IC as long as it doesn't require effort, I can
take it or leave it.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: going to the bank and public storage

SkyeDS: I's bk
evile: WB. Did you have a nice trip?
SkyeDS: as far as such trips go :)
SkyeDS: found out I could have paid PS online
evile: Oh well. Next time.
SkyeDS: brandyeileen looks a little like [The Rubber Pig] in the face,
particularly I think the eyes and eyebrows, and then the hair and
facial structure
evile: I think so too. Probably why I don't like her much, either.
evile: (well, why the initial negative gut reaction, anyway.)
evile: where are you seeing her picture?
SkyeDS: LJ somewhere
evile: Oh, OK.
evile: I know some of her user icons are self portraits, but older
ones. Nothing recent.
evile: they're about to do something awful to my machine at work. yet
another new hard drive, I think. If you don't see me tomorow, that's
why.
SkyeDS: least it's time to go home - wind to your wings :)
evile: *hugs* see ya later!
SkyeDS: ciao :D

Sharjinka: Hello.
evile: hey! did you get your paper done?
Sharjinka: Yes, it was only 9 pages, but I don't think he'll penalize
me for a page short.
evile: *fingers crossed* hope not!!
Sharjinka: Me too. It was so disjointed. I'm just afraid it wasn't
clear. And didn't tie in well together. I was all over the place
with this paper.
evile: That happens sometimes.
Sharjinka: How do you do those....cuts....? I'm sure not everyone
will want to read this..... I just thought I'd post it....
Sharjinka: Skye has asked to read it. Ewwww..... *sigh*
Sharjinka: She's going to love the ancient view of women..... *sigh*
evile: <lj-cut>, or <lj-cut text="Optional text here">
Sharjinka: Either one works?
evile: well, if she's half the scholar she says she is, she already
knows the Judeo-Christian view of women, and probably teh Gnostic and
Zoroastrian views that precluded them.
evile: yup. The <lj-cut> will just say "read more" in the parenthesis.
Sharjinka: :-) It was pretty negative...
evile: If you want it to say something other than 'read more' you can
do the text cut and insert your own title.
Sharjinka: Okay. Let me check if that worked. ;-)
evile: I did something or another wayyy back in the dawn of my
college years on "Sophia" in Greek tradition vs. "Shekhina" in
Judaism...but I can't really remember enough to tell you if the paper
was coherent, good, or whatever.
Sharjinka: It didn't work. Shit. I wonder what I did wrong.
Sharjinka: Oh...fuck. Why can't I ever figure out computers? This
truly sucks.
Sharjinka: Yes, got it. Yay!
evile: check to see if there's spaces in between..oh, ok. Nevermind.
Sharjinka: Hmmm....it will only do the first word in the text. I
wonder why.
Sharjinka: This is so NOT difficult for others. Frustrating doesn't
begin to cover it.
evile: it ought to put whatever you put in quote marks as the cut text
Sharjinka: Got it. Didn't have an end quote. :-)
evile: aha. OK
Sharjinka: Got it now. That only took four tries. :-(
evile: eh, it's how we learn. It's OK. You're only defeated when you
don't get back up and try again, ya know?
Sharjinka: Thanks. :-)
evile: No problem :)
Sharjinka: Only one final exam to go.
Sharjinka: Ick.
evile: Yay! Only one more! And then you'll be free, until the next
bunch of classes :P
Sharjinka: Oh....yeah.... *sigh*
Sharjinka: *TIRED*
evile: me too...
Sharjinka: *sigh*
evile: how's your boy feeling?
Sharjinka: He hardly broke stride over it. He cooked steakie and
pasta for me last night. I didn't even really notice anything
wrong. :-) He's tougher than he looks....
evile: good lord, that's awesome. He must have a really great dentist!
Sharjinka: Yep. :-)
evile: I'm glad it wasn't too bad. When Sweetie got his root canal, he
puked in the car on the way home.
Sharjinka: Oh...no....nothing like that. I shocked my parents when I
recovered from having my wisdom teeth pulled in a half hour. She
called the dentist to ask if that was normal.
Sharjinka: He told her it wasn't but to go with a good thing. ;-)
evile: yeah. I was pretty pitiful after my wisdom tooth came out..but
I got all 4 done the same day.
Sharjinka: I only had two and no more. I was supposed to recover in
half a day or a day.
Sharjinka: After the frosty from Wendy's, I felt fine. :-D It was a
bit odd.... I just didn't feel bad at all anymore.
evile: I had mine pulled on a Thursday, took off from school Friday,
and then rested over the weekend, and then when I went to school
Monday, took a test, and threw up (took my meds without food.
mistake.)
Sharjinka: I think I had mine on a Friday and played basketball all
weekend. I didn't take anything. Dentist said it was weird but if I
didn't need meds, it was cool. I was all right on Mon. Weird, huh?
Sharjinka: Sorry you were sick!
evile: Well, I'm a wuss about some things, apparently oral surgery is
one of them. Then I get my female plumbing knocked out of commission
and I'm up and running a few hours later....go fig.
Sharjinka: Wow.
evile: I guess it depends on what kind of pain you get used to.
Sharjinka: When I lost my eyesight for three weeks, I was up and
running into walls the next day. ;-)
evile: heehee! You're incorrigable!
Sharjinka: :-D
evile: Sweetie just got back into town yesterday afternoon, so I'm not
sure if I'll be attending craft night or not. He may have other plans
for me ;)
Sharjinka: Totally understandable! You don't have to draw
pictures....
Sharjinka: Even if they were interesting....
evile: heehee. say no more, say no more, wink wink, nudge nudge.
Sharjinka: HeeHee....
Sharjinka: Maybe I'll watch a bit of Monty Python tonight. I'm in
the mood for that.
Sharjinka: "Help, help...I'm being oppressed!!"
evile: *laff* I loves me some Python.
Sharjinka: Good stuff!!!
evile: yup. One of these days I'm going to get Live at the Hollywood
Bowl for my very own; I've rented it enough times.
Sharjinka: :-D
evile: that was pretty quick feedback on your paper.
Sharjinka: I can't believe she read the whole thing. She commented
minutes after I posted.
evile: Honestly, I don't think she did.
evile: I haven't yet.
Sharjinka: Just skim it. It's not that great. I wish I could've
expressed myself better.
Sharjinka: You know what you said about the flapping gums of your co-
workers. God, I wish she would leave.
evile: *Nod!!!* Yeah. Work and shut up, or go home and talk THERE
Sharjinka: No kidding. She's the thing that wouldn't shut up. ;-)
evile: coworker, or did Skye_ds pop in on you at work?
Sharjinka: Co-worker. It was Skye_ds yesterday while I was working on
my research paper. I finally had to sign off AIM.
evile: *nod* She was a little het up yesterday; apparently someone
was not sympathetic enough to her or soemthing.
Sharjinka: Maybe it was me. I was trying hard to write and she kept
interrupting with comments about my research.
Sharjinka: Contradictions and such. *sigh*
evile: "write your own damn paper, bitch"
Sharjinka: It was hard to concentrate so I signed off. I had four or
five sources in front of me and it was just getting on my nerves.
evile: *nod*
Sharjinka: I'm just glad I got it done.
evile: I love it. Little Miss Plagiarism tells Jinx how to write a
paper.
Sharjinka: Plagiarism?? Does she?? I hate that. It's why I
included my Bibliography on my LJ and hopefully credited everything
correctly. I didn't have time for footnotes so I felt kind of bad
about that.
evile: Oh, she cuts and pastes whole blocks out of RPG manuals and
throws them randomly into her role play
Sharjinka: Oh....I can't do that. I can't even...tell a joke without
giving some credit. It's usually Stephen Wright. ;-)
Sharjinka: http://www.notso.com/wright.htm
evile: heehee.
Sharjinka: Love that guy!
evile: he's awesome. :)
Sharjinka: :-D
Sharjinka: Is your Launchcast working?
evile: FINALLY. yes. I had to mess with my spyware-blocker or
whatever.
Sharjinka: Cool. :-D
evile: I just want stuff that works, is that so much to ask???
Sharjinka: Don't blame you there!
evile: I am going to wait until I'm at home with no intterruptions so
I can read your paper all the way through.
Sharjinka: I still think skimming it would be best....
Sharjinka: I did. :-D
evile: I'm not good at skimming.
Sharjinka: Oh....
evile: and I'm a pretty fast reader, so it's not like actually
reading something takes that long. I just like to be able to sit and
focus when I'm reading academic stuff.
Sharjinka: I can understand that...
evile: they're about to do something awful to my machine at work. yet
another new hard drive, I think. If you don't see me tomorow, that's
why.
evile: See ya later; will definitely comment on your LJ :)
Sharjinka: Okay! Laters!!! :-)
