    evile: hi!
    Sineater: heyoos!
    evile: how was your interview?
Sineater: short... did not feel like a slamdunk to me. they want an
experienced white box sw tester, so, not sure how they will like my
piffling years of experience on the hardware end of things
    evile: hm.
Sineater: shrug. need to get off the d!!! merry go round sometime
    evile: yup...they suck
    evile: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/capitalareajobclub/
    evile: been there?
Sineater: yeah but not in a while. ought to drop by. thanks for
    reminding me :)
    evile: lots of tech postings
evile: would you happen to know HoJo's real name?
    Sineater: ?howard johnson?
    evile: is it really???
Sineater: this is the guy who owns the restauraunts with the orange
    roofs, right?
evile: haha. No, the HFS guy with the ring in his nose and the absurd
    beard
    Sineater: oh. no idea
    evile: ok. thanks anyway :)

    Current mood: loved
Current music: Don Henley ~ Inside Job album

Maestro Loves Me (warning: musings of a somewhat adult, explicit
    nature)

    <img src=https://www.leathercellar.com/shop/images/cr00.jpg>

~Maestro Loves Me, this I know, for my Collars tell me so~ (sung to
the tune of Jesus Loves Me -- LOL). Above is my Valentine's Day gift
from sonar0m (from www.leathercellar.com). I still need to choose the
jewels and the color of the band - decisions, decisions - not my
forte. My Christmas gift was a handmade collar of chainmail on royal
purple silk backing - no photo yet. In addition to his considerable
physical attributes, talented fingers and skills as a cunning
linguist, he encourages my creativity and imagination, not only
through actual play but through writing together, too. As MasterCard
says: "Collar, $48. Perfect Love, Perfect Trust (no paranoia),
someone I can share any part of my psyche with, no matter how dark or
    weird, Priceless."

    Meme borrowed from bramblekite :

Please Note: all responses subject to change, in accordance with the
vagaries of the double Geminian mind.

    1. I will tell you what song reminds me of you.

    Lone Star ~ Amazed

    2. I will tell you what celebrity/public/fictional person you remind
me of, either personality-wise or looks-wise.

Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Carribean, Chocolat, Don Juan di Marco,
What's Eating Gilbert Grape) ~ as much or more personality-wise than
    looks-wise.

    3. I will give you one word that I associate with you when I think of
    you.

Loyal and True (ok, that's two words, but I'm a double Gemini so
    nyah :P)

    4. I will tell you what color(s) I associate with you:

    "fuck me!" red and black

    evile: howdy!
    SkyeDS: how do :)
    SkyeDS: <slow, apologies in advance
evile: ok no big, me too
evile: I had phone duty today, but I slept in, so I leave at the same
time. Today was an up to my ass in alligators kind of phone duty.
SkyeDS: I think if nothing else I'm worth what I'm paid because I
    deal with the phone.
SkyeDS: I listen all day every day to people chatter so that he
doesn't have to, and I chill people out before giving them to him
because I don't think they need to be attacking him.
    evile: *nod*
evile: Ended it on a good note, the last caller told me to tell my
boss I do good work and need a raise.
    SkyeDS: hehe
SkyeDS: I suspect Joyce will pester Hugh to give me one
    evile: that would be nice.
SkyeDS: I've been here over a year now, so it should be fair game to
    ask for one now
SkyeDS: but I"m going to wait until the new monies from the board
cert have established themselves before I ask
SkyeDS: we're upping the per hour and related flat fees to $270 per
    SkyeDS: from 195
    evile: excellent!
SkyeDS: he has paid me religiously but has not paid himself in months
    now.
SkyeDS: today is the first paycheck I've written him in at least two
    months if not longer
    evile: wow..that kind of sucks!
SkyeDS: well he did just inherit more than half a million taxfree,
    but still
    evile: geez
SkyeDS: pays himself only twice what he pays me
SkyeDS: most admins make 1/3 or less of what the boss does
evile: wow. that's nice of him.
SkyeDS: and I get away with murder.
    evile: always a nice perk.
evile: would you happen to know HoJo's real name?
SkyeDS: I thought I saw it in Thax's LJ at some point
    evile: hm
SkyeDS: Jinx would know it, as well as Thax & Liz
evile: they aren't on icq right now, though. :(
evile: Knightdragon is such a freak.
    SkyeDS: ?
evile: I guess he assumed I was responding publically to his private
posts and posted that wierd thing in response to my 'light the candle
rather than curse the darkness' paraphrase.
SkyeDS: I am just now checking email, have not progressed to
    newsgroups or LJ
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Bridget the Bitch last year about this time wanted to make it
a rule that all horses and all riders be trained to level 3 dressage
SkyeDS: now...Traci got on Mirage and had her doing level 3 movement
    in five minutes
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: so explain to me how much training that takes for the horses
evile: I guess the emphasis then is on having the riders at that
    level, too.
SkyeDS: and to get level 3 trained in 3 months, like BtB recommends,
would take no less than 3 lessons per week, at 35 - 50 per
SkyeDS: well, the two knights that brought eq to the kingdom, neither
are dressage trained, one of them has never had a lesson one in
anything, and their horses aren't dressage trained either. And one
of their horses is of course the winningest in the kingdom.
SkyeDS: so that would just leave them right on out
evile: I don't know much about dressage, but from what little I do
understand it's basically about reinforcing the animals instinctive
movements to where they'll do them from a rider's signal.
SkyeDS: except of course that they are SIR Alexis and SIR Henri, so
    they get special treatment
    SkyeDS: exactly.
SkyeDS: a horse is not trained to a certain level
    SkyeDS: the rider is
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: until you start talking about Grand Prix Level 4, where the
horse has to have muscular training
SkyeDS: but a level 3 rider can make any horse do level 3.
SkyeDS: so anyway, she was shot down in short order
evile: from a safety standpoint, I can see where you'd want
experienced riders only on the field. But that experience, IMHO, need
not be in dressage, just in rider and horse spending X amount of time
    together.
SkyeDS: this year, she wants everyone in mounted crest combat to have
    heavy steel helmets and gorgets.
SkyeDS: she likes to use the word safety. what she really wants is
the exclusion of anyone who isn't just like her.
evile: and it's not like you can disagree wtih 'for everyone's
safety' any more than you can argue with 'for the children' even when
the originator of the idea doesn't give a rats ass but is using the
    rhetoric to move people.
    SkyeDS: au contraire
SkyeDS: there has been detailed argument on both sides about details
    of safety
evile: "Oh, so SKYE wants people to ride out and risk their necks,
rather than have us implement this oh so reasonable safety policy.
    That horrible SKYE."
SkyeDS: I would pose to you that if you are not accustomed to wearing
16 gauge steel on your head, it affects your balance
SkyeDS: lol Skye hasn't said one word and isn't going to
SkyeDS: people with much more political capital than me are waging war
SkyeDS: this minnow, you will remember, does not swim with sharks
evile: You just have to be really really careful when countering
arguments that are couched in such benevolent-sounding terms.
SkyeDS: at any rate, if it affects your balance, you are more likely
    to come off your horse
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: hitting the ground with your head and a steel helmet is going
to hurt worse arguably than hitting the ground with a fencing mask
    (padded) or even bareheaded
SkyeDS: so this business about heavy helmets being safer where the
horses are concerned, no I don't think so
SkyeDS: and where Mirage would NEVER set hoof to my head if she can
see it, she might damn well set hoof to a metal pot she thought was
    eating my head
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: then there's "boffer swords put an 1/4 inch dent in a 2x4"
SkyeDS: ok, if you're swinging it like a baseball bat with both arms
SkyeDS: which nobody is doing trying to control a horse
SkyeDS: I was going to ask sonar0m to give me something to address the
boffer thing with (since I haven't fought in a decade)
SkyeDS: but some woman on the list was in a boffer group (didn't say
which one) and she's doing a damn good job by herself.
SkyeDS: head shots aren't legal in HFS, but they do happen.
SkyeDS: and there are NO helmets, NO gorgets there.
    SkyeDS: (and NO problems)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: anyway, on her side are her sycophant and her putative spouse
    evile: hm. sounds ugly.
SkyeDS: aligned against her are the Olympic coach, the GrandFather of
    Ansteorra Eq, the KEO, etc.
    evile: wow!
SkyeDS: I'm more than happy to watch her continue to unload clips
into her feet and her ass
SkyeDS: she's only making my point for me that she does not need to
    be next KEO
    evile: yeah..
SkyeDS: I'm still not happy, as most of the Kingdom isn't, that
because her putative spouse could not make HIS horse close with Jesse
SkyeDS: who did not attack him, just threatened him
    evile: yuck
SkyeDS: she's an alpha mare, she threatens, but she never connects
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and if you're riding a gelding, you should have enough
    control to deal with that
    SkyeDS: (and know how)
SkyeDS: anyway, Jesse threatens, Gideon hasn't got enough control of
his horse to get him to close with Jesse, so instead of withdrawing
himself, he waits for sineater to withdraw
    evile: not good.
SkyeDS: in the meanwhile, Bridget is riding Moose the fugly Lippi
    (worst cull I've ever seen)
SkyeDS: who actually kicks twice with one leg
SkyeDS: and then with BOTH legs
SkyeDS: coming less than 1/8 of an inch away from connecting
    SkyeDS: before BtB withdraws
SkyeDS: NOT because she nearly hurt somebody but because she nearly
    humiliated herself by coming off
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: that is just wrong. Plus she goes around behind my back all
the time trying to have the boys pulled from every event that
    requires a Letter of Intent
    evile: suck.
SkyeDS: I do get a little kick out of writing letters of intent
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I use the full formal address, with Arthur as Herald
    evile: there ya go.
SkyeDS: the last one looked like this:
SkyeDS: Arthur Pendragon, TyrannoMacaw Rex of Clan Macaw, alias
    Kumpania
Peregrina Herald, unto the noble and honorable Sir Henri and all to
whom these letters shall have come, Ave!

SkyeDS: SIGHIERI PEREGRINA (mka sineater) and MARCO PEREGRINA
(mka sonar0m) do hereby intend to meet upon the field of argent and
vert upon the dawning of the 17th of March, Anno Societatis XXXIX.
As the Shire of Graywood bids them, they wish to bring their lances,
their speers, and their small but mighty mares draped in their
    finest
trappings. Arthur Pendragon and Bella Peregrina (mka Skye) will be
proud to serve as their Jester-Heralds.

    SkyeDS: (omg, I misspelled spear :( )
    evile: hee.
    SkyeDS: In Servizio,
    Vale,
    Arthur, Kumpania Herald
SkyeDS: ok, so I'm easily amused
    evile: that's cute :)
SkyeDS: if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right, and I figure
it's getting into the true spirit of the thing
SkyeDS: some people write their LOI on vellum or leather in period
ink and go the whole 9 yards and mail it.
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: I'm lazy, so I send mine by electronic carrier pigeon :P
    evile: there ya go.
evile: I'm having an unproductive day at work. window shopping, as
always. I am *totally* getting a port sipper for my 1970 bday port.
Check this out--what a great price!
    http://www.calvines.com/dbID/185.html
    SkyeDS: :D
evile: I just love port sippers--they look like fat little demons.
SkyeDS: sonar0m made me a collar for Xmas
SkyeDS: didn't fit, so he's making it bigger
    SkyeDS: chain mail
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: and I'm not supposed to know that I'm getting a leather one
    for ValD
    evile: my lips are sealed.
    SkyeDS: hehe
SkyeDS: Aries don't keep secrets very well
    evile: *lol*
SkyeDS: I have not done any bragging on my boys, or why I love you
SkyeDS: I t hink I will do that in installments when I have the time
SkyeDS: those why I love you lists can get quite long when you put
    much thought into them
    evile: *nod*
evile: It's always nice to hear/read, though. And helpful to look
back on when you're having a bad day.
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: since M doesn't have an LJ I'll have to leave it public
SkyeDS: I'll cut it with an explicit warning I guess
SkyeDS: although I didn't intend to be THAT explicit
SkyeDS: but some people still brain scar easily
evile: I liked the 'song/celebrity/color' meme. I had a lot of fun
    with that.
SkyeDS: I was quite a shock to some of Jubilee's Waco friends
    evile: Imagine that. :P
    evile: mostly baylor kids?
SkyeDS: is that meme in your journal recently
    SkyeDS: of course
evile: I think it was my personal record of comments made to a post.
    42, 41? something like that.
    evile: http://www.livejournal.com/users/bramblekite/256558.html
    SkyeDS: grazie!
SkyeDS: have you visited bruteforceleather.com, fallen angel corsets
    or leathercellar.com?
evile: bruteforce and leathercellar, yes. But not fallen angel, I
    don't think.
evile: I am pretty sure the king of the vampires in 'Bite' was
    wearing a brute force coat
SkyeDS: fallen angel m akes corsets for bruteforce
SkyeDS: and there's a company I think called tiemeup that does pretty
bdsm jewelry of the delicate, antique sort
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: ah man, that makes me think
    SkyeDS: too many everything!
    evile: *nodnod*
SkyeDS: <the Gemini whines, but I don't want to think!
SkyeDS: (more like but I have to choose, I don't want to choose!)
    evile: yup!
SkyeDS: got the colors and the movie character, need the song and
    the one word
SkyeDS: this should not be that damn hard.
SkyeDS: just having a hard time focusing
    evile: *nod*
evile: I think the majority of the Chaos people wear brute force
leather stuff, or at least stuff that looks like that. I don't really
like anyone in chaos, other than Rengeek, but I liked him before he
joined Chaos and got his 'chaos name'
SkyeDS: damn picture isn't showing like it ought to hm
    evile: that sucks!
evile: could be the http S part, that is some kind of secure setting,
I'm not sure exactly what it does.
    SkyeDS: it's a secure server
SkyeDS: and that's the only thing I can figure, too
SkyeDS: oh well, not as immediately visual, and the collar is
stunning, but I"ll just put the url
SkyeDS: Lady Visa and Master of the Card ;)
evile: *nod* I've seen that at Faire before.
evile: I think I'm actually excited about going to Excalibur this
year. Finally over my dreadful vending experience, I suppose :)
evile: helps, too, that marc posted his delighful little anecdote
about them trying out for faire the first time :)
SkyeDS: we tried out last year. I don't think it helped our case
that the existing horse group didn't want us there at all
SkyeDS: no matter that what we do isn't even remotely like what they
    do
SkyeDS: (we do strolling bardics, storytelling and petting zoo type
    stuff, they joust)
evile: they have limited space, so I guess I can see that finding
places for horses to be stored & do their performances could be a
    problem.
SkyeDS: Marc initially wanted to say yes, but the other group said no
SkyeDS: and it isn't worth losing their established group for
SkyeDS: and I wouldn't want to trade on my acquaintance with Marc
    that way anyhow
evile: add to that 'flakey' and 'mom and pop owned' and it may not
be a bad thing not to work there
SkyeDS: it also has scheduling conflicts with almost every single
    weekend during the Season
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: this last post is going to draw fire but I don't f'ing care
    anymore
SkyeDS: it's my journal I'll say what I want and anyone who doesn't
like it doesn't have to read it
    evile: which? your LJ?
    evile: exactly!
SkyeDS: although the temptation to post the lyrics to "You're So
Vain, You Probly Think This Post Is About You" is great.
    evile: *laff*
evile: I was encouraged to read about his upcoming interview. Now if
he can just keep from throwing a monkeywrench in his own works...
SkyeDS: sineater has heard bad things about what happens to people once
    they get to Japan
SkyeDS: may he get what he deserves, regardless
evile: I'd rather have him focused on the future and hope than on
    hurting people and being ugly.
SkyeDS: future and hope is all good and well.
SkyeDS: being stranded in Japan with no ability to speak the
language, no money and no support system to get you out of there =
    bad.
SkyeDS: in general, not just him specifically mind you
evile: well, it's his life. If nothing else, it'll give him something
    new to bitch about.
SkyeDS: how anyone can say he's moved on, and is all happy, but still
bitches about his ex a year later is beyond me
    evile: yeah, sad.
SkyeDS: it is to be hoped that he does not get himself into the deep
kimchi over there that many others have, because his parents are in
no position to come rescue him
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I wish I could find that quote about considering what cannot
be undone from the assassin's handbook
SkyeDS: or that Heinlein quote either one
    evile: *nod*
evile: bout time for me to get gone. I need to figure out where to
walk where I won't get rained on....
SkyeDS: wind to your wings HUGS :)
    evile: *hugs* drive safe!
