Went to sleep at 5 last night. I had some intention of waking up when
Sweetie got home & playing tennis, but it didn't happen.

Dreamt about some kind of Battlestar Galactica LARP campout, in which
I had a tent and a case of beer and nothing else. Their 'Starbuck'
character had a mullet. There was a barn that was the meeting hall
for the important people in the game. Somehow I was in there when
Cylons attacked, shooting yellow foam balls at people. I wondered
what the camping LARPers did when their characters got 'killed' by
cylons? Is there 'dead people camping'? I somehow got an aerial view
of the campsite & there were all these cars that were tricked out to
look like space ships & all the tents were painted metallic grey and
taupe with circuit patterns & stuff to make them look high-tech.

evilE: busy playing spades? if so I won't pester
skye_ds: lol playin spades, transcribing, not busy
    evilE: How was your weekend?
skye_ds: we had a great time
skye_ds: I taught a lesson and then we went to an event
    evilE: cool
skye_ds: the equestrian games are awesome
    skye_ds: how are you feelin?
evilE: Not bad. Had a couple of sinking spells over the
weekend but we also played tennis Saturday and Sunday evenings,
    so...all good, I guess.
    skye_ds:
evilE: It didnt' hurt me any more or any less to play
tennis than to sit on the couch and whine. Sweetie's on a little fitness
kick, I should enjoy him as a workout buddy while I can
    skye_ds: nodnod
evilE: He'll get bored and go back to surfing the net on
his laptop all evening again soon, I'm sure.
    skye_ds: aw
evilE: Some people read Witches of Eastwick and decide to
try witchcraft or poly, I read Witches & go on a tennis kick
    skye_ds: lol
evilE: We've only gone twice, but both times we got a
court right away, so it looks like something we can do on a regular
    basis without too much hassle.
skye_ds: Hugh plays raquetball at the Y with his wife many days a
    week
skye_ds: I told him they were cute
skye_ds: he huffed back that they were not cute
evilE: I used to play raquetball with J-Law all the time.
It was one of the factors in getting thin for the first/only time in
    my life at age 25.
evilE: The nice thing about racquetball as opposed to
tennis is that no matter how badly you hit, you don't end up chasing
the ball all over the place.
    skye_ds: whatcha doin for lunch?
skye_ds: Sineater and I are hungry
evilE: I brought leftovers from home & made short work of
    them
    skye_ds: ah
skye_ds: I guess we'll wander over to Wendy's then for a little bit
evilE: There's lots of stuff on Congress.
skye_ds: I have my annual poke prod and pry after lunch today
evilE: Oh, joy. Good luck with that.
skye_ds: needed to get it over with in the next three weeks, so
decided to do it early and get it over with
evilE: yeah, I know that feeling
skye_ds: Hugh was gone from afternoon Wed the rest of the week to a
    conference in Houston
skye_ds: most of the day yesterday and today with his dad having
    medical problems
    evilE: yuck.
skye_ds: Sineater is workin on the puters while he's out.
skye_ds: we have an event this weekend and possibly someone layup
    boarding two horses two nights
evilE: Well, that's good. At least he'll have something
    good to come back to.
    evilE: wow!
skye_ds: birthday party is being rescheduled but I haven't heard
    anything from them
    evilE: birthday party?
    evilE: them who?
skye_ds: we had originally agreed to do a birthday party Saturday
skye_ds: we were going to leave the Event for about four hours
    evilE: Oh, okay.
skye_ds: $125 for an hour and a half (I was going to do two hours for
that but she only wanted an hour and a half, which was fine)
skye_ds: and then t hey wanted to reschedule, which was even better
    evilE: Yeah.
skye_ds: because then it doesn't mean juggling around the event. but
    they haven't called back yet
evilE: I thought maybe you were talking about {Rubber Pig}'s
    kid's bday the 15th. Last I heard [brother A]'s family isn't invited,
because we wouldn't come anyway. what. ever.
    skye_ds: huh?
    skye_ds: who said that when
evilE: no clue. I got it from Aunt L. I was going to be out
    of town anyway.
skye_ds: only thing I remember saying is that I expect I will have my
    family visiting
skye_ds: but I said that to you. L hasn't talked to us that I know
    of.
evilE: I don't know where any of this comes from, but
I've declared 2004 to be a drama-free year foro me, so I am not
    bothering with this.
    skye_ds: /me shrugs
skye_ds: business seems to be picking up, and most of it on the
    weekends
skye_ds: so it isn't like I don't have other things to do besides
worry about family events I'm not invited to
evilE: Yeah, that's when most people are
    free/traveling/etc
skye_ds: happily my student I just picked up wants to take lessons
    after school.
skye_ds: her mother and I completely agreed that we liked having our
    Saturdays free.
    evilE: that's cool.
skye_ds: it just occurred to me yesterday that duh, school is out in
a month, and maybe everyone will be amenable to lessons during the
    week.
evilE: will you have to change your hours with Hugh in
    order to make it home?
skye_ds: which means less time here with Hugh, but then he knew that.
    skye_ds: yep
skye_ds: have to leave here at 2:30 for a lesson at 4 (hour travel
time, change clothes, catch horse, etc)
evilE: As long as he's cool about it.
skye_ds: he didn't originally plan to have me 40 hours anyway. But
when I was first organizing the office, it needed 40 hours.
    skye_ds: it's running fairly smoothly now, a nd doesn't require 40
hours (if he doesn't want 40 hour phone coverage)
evilE: thre's always voice mail for that.
    skye_ds: nods
    skye_ds: Friday was sonar0m' birthday.
skye_ds: we went over to visit Kelly and the kids after I hit the
    office in the morning
skye_ds: she was broken into for the third time in six weeks.
skye_ds: she nearly caught the kids this time.
    evilE: nice. :(
skye_ds: the kids are hitting places again as soon as they think the
insurance money came in and things would be replaced
skye_ds: couple of things they weren't counting on
skye_ds: kelly coming home from work when she did
skye_ds: and her insurance company refused her claim, so she hasn't
    replaced anything
skye_ds: they finally hit my trailer though
    evilE: how awful!
skye_ds: I kept wondering what the deal was, they hit Kelly twice
already and the neighbor on the other side half a dozen times
skye_ds: we need to go out and repair deadbolts.
    evilE: yuck.
evilE: I hate to say it, but the kids may be friends of
Kelly's kids & the other neighbors, so that's why they hit there
    first.
evilE: We were robbed a few times at the Ashland house &
figured out eventually that it was one (or more) of my 'little
    friends' in the neighborhood
skye_ds: they're black teenagers from the projects behind the park
skye_ds: Kelly gave chase, got her stuff back, got five sheriffs with
canines, two APD and a helicopter on them
    evilE: lordy!
skye_ds: hopefully they'll give it more thought before they hit any
    of us again.
evilE: I imagine that will depend on the motivation.
    Boredom or addiction?
    skye_ds: would wager addiction
evilE: then you'll see them again. druggie scum.
skye_ds: but they are hitting places that are easy
skye_ds: one lady made it clear she was home and they left her place
    alone
skye_ds: they're only taking what they can carry, no vehicle
    evilE: yuck. what a mess.
skye_ds: and they're taking things that can be given directly to
dealers rather than pawned off (jewelry and small electronics)
skye_ds: so, I think they'll at least hit someplace else now that
Kelly has made it clear that she isn't easy.
skye_ds: problem is, neighbor on other side IS easy
skye_ds: AND she keeps replacing stuff, which is why they hit her so
    much more often
    skye_ds: if Kelly had had a gun, they'd have been injured/dead. She's
    t hinking about it.
evilE: I hope they lay off Kelly. It would be nice to
discourage them from stealing anywhere in the park, but that's a
    stretch.
skye_ds: if they don't lay off Kelly, she will more than likely arm
herself and then they will die.
skye_ds: she has military training, it wouldn't take long for her to
    get a permit.
evilE: you hate to see things get so far gone, but....
skye_ds: the sheriff's office was so impressed with her giving chase
that they said she should apply to be an officer.
    evilE: heh. That's awesome!

evilE: well, I've got to visit the girls room. If you go
to lunch before I get back, have a good one. Hug Sineater for me
    skye_ds: nods
evilE: back again. I may need to buckle down seriously in
the next few days. Boss is going out on sick leave for 6 wks starting
    tomorrow.
    skye_ds: nods
skye_ds: I wonder if it will ever be possible to do nothing but horse
    stuff and still pay bills
evilE: *fingers crossed* I hope so.
evilE: I know you're happier with the animals and with
your music than you are anywhere else
evilE: So it would be really great for you if you got to
do what makes you happy AND have $ for it.
    skye_ds: nods
skye_ds: they say you can make a small fortune in the horse bidness
skye_ds: out of a large one
evilE: They say that about wine, too
evilE: I am a materialistic greedy grabby little Taurus,
but even I am learning with age that money isn't everything. If I
have enough to pay the bills and do something I love every day,
    that's a 'win'.
evilE: oh, ew. Creepy skate night guy sent me pictures of
him and his offspring at some theme park. I tried to reply with
something vague and uninterested but he seems to be insistent on
    continuing the dialogue. yuck.
    skye_ds:
evilE: m,y first impulse was to say 'yay, your dick
    worked!'....should have gone with it.
    skye_ds: LOL
evilE: Tact just doesn't work on some ppl.
    skye_ds: looks sheepish
evilE: I have my clueless moments, too. But come
on...I've told this guy I don't want to date him. I've told him about
No Kidding, more than once. So...what else do I need to say to make
him go away and quit shoving pictures of his crotchgoblin at me???
skye_ds: I have an insanely jealous and possessive man who wants to
shoot you in the face w/ a bazook?
evilE: No, I already told him Sweetie just mocks me when I
    get hit on by goons.
evilE: and he has a good memory for stuff, just no
comprehension skills where it suits him to be ignorant
    skye_ds: sigh
evilE: I suppose I shouldn't have contradicted him when
he tried to slap the 'child hater' label on me. I just get so tired
of being called a child hater...
    skye_ds: I hate labels period.
skye_ds: tell him Sineater will shoot him in the face w/ a bazooka?
evilE: nah, not worth the jail time.
skye_ds: Mirage let multiple kids swing from her tail at the event
    evilE: poor horse.
skye_ds: which is good because I had a hard time convincign them to
    stop
skye_ds: adn their parents were nowhere in evidence
evilE: That doesn't sound very cool. I would think ren
parents would be better than the usual entitlement breeders one
    encounters in "RL"
    skye_ds: would think
evilE: At least Mirage has the patience/discipline not to
kick the shit out of 'em and get you sued.
skye_ds: they were there under SCA insurance so it wouldn't come out
    of my pocket.
skye_ds: but no I don't want to get sued all the same
    evilE: nope
skye_ds: met the woman in charge of eq events for all of tx & ok, and
    I liked her a lot
skye_ds: do you think he would understand "please just go away. don't
    go away mad....just go away"
    evilE: possibly.
evilE: While the weather is nice and I have tennis with
Sweetie, I am not going to obsess on getting to skate night regularly. So
right now it's moot, I guess. Annoying, but really inconsequential.
skye_ds: going to pack up and go to the doctor, hopefully should be
    back before you leave <hugs>
    evilE: *hugs* Good luck!
skye_ds: I am currently away from the computer.
