This shit means absolutely *nothing*...it is such a crock. Panic! No,
wait, don't panic. Go on about your business. NO, it's an orange
alert. But, really, don't worry. Everything is under control.
crazy. Were I a paranoid conspiracy theorist I'd think we were being
conditioned or something.

Austin On High Alert For Terror Threat
Mon Dec 22, 8:52 AM ET
Travel plans should go as scheduled. That's the word from Texas
officials after the federal government raised the national threat
level to orange, the second-highest. It's not an indication there's a
known threat to the state. Kathy Walt is a spokeswoman for Governor
Rick Perry. She says the level change shouldn't let the warning
affect their holiday plans. Walt says the state's Emergency
Operations Center already was working 24 hours a day, even before the
terror alert level was raised. The federal government said threat
indicators are "perhaps greater now than at any point" since
September Eleventh, 2001, with strikes possible during the holidays.
Adam Wine is chief warrant officer with the U-S Coast Guard. He said
officials had no information about any direct threats to Houston,
Galveston or other areas along the Texas shoreline. Emergency
preparedness crews are stepping up security measures across the
state, including here in Austin. At Austin Berg! strom International
Airport, police have begun random vehicle inspections. Governor Rick
Perry's office issued this statement on Sunday, concerning the
elevated terror level. At this time there is no known threat for
Texas. The Governor urges Texans to continue to be vigilant. If you
see any suspicious activity, contact your local law enforcement
officers. Otherwise, go about your daily lives and continue with your
holiday plans
