    Taurus
    Horoscope (by Astrocenter.com)
There is a terrific combination in the air today, dear Taurus. Dreamy
sensitivity combined with solid grounding will make for a winning
outcome in just about every situation you encounter. The sensuality
level is high and you won't be disappointed by any of the romantic
encounters that are sure to come your way. Your prudent approach will
be appreciated, as long as it is combined with a touch of dreaminess
    and creativity.

    Gemini
    Horoscope (by Astrocenter.com)
Make your plans early, dear Gemini, because the day is apt to go
quickly and you will find yourself having accomplished nothing unless
you make a conscious effort to complete a specific set of tasks from
a specific list. Try to temper the dreamy fantasy element of the day
with a bit of practical reasoning. Otherwise, you will be easily
pushed off course by even the slightest wind that is sure to blow in
    your direction.
    ================================

Last night was Poly first wednesday at Central Market. I got dinner
there for less than $5, met a guy named Ian who was passing Lambic
Framboise around, visited with Debbie & Joe, Kat & Markus, Pace,
Stephanie, Jason, etc. I guess I'm out of my first-blush with them.
They're mostly nice, but not supergenius supermodels anymore.

Kat's really wonderful. She has been diving in Cozumel & says it's
fun. Her face just lights up when she is talking about something
good, or when she would see someone she was happy to see. Very
expressive. She can be quiet & a little withdrawn, but waiting &
watching for her to come out of her shell is definitely worth it

      The Artist's Inner Vision Tarot

      Five of Swords
      5 of swords

      Artwork by Catherine Moore

Often in conflict we find we have lost the battle. This card is a
card of defeat, one where we must face our limitations. We are not
omnipotent; we are not always going to end up on top, always the
winner. Defeat can and will come many times in a lifetime. This can
be carried as a wound and be self-defeating in nature or this can be
carried as a scar, a pain that has been overcome and conquered,
making us stronger for the next battle. We have the choice of how to
wear our defeats, and the Five of Swords tells us to accept these
limitations with honesty and courage, hoping the knowledge will make
      us stronger.

The pirate appears to face defeat in the form of a skull. He can look
at it through the eyes of experience and accept the reality of the
situation to build upon or he can look at it through the eyes of
regret and mask of self-delusion and defeat.

The conflict you are taking on or contemplating taking on will not be
successful. It would be wise for you to conserve your resources and
either move in another direction or change strategies.

The negative of this card would be mental anguish experienced from a
defeat, which is the most difficult to overcome.

In the movie Gone With the Wind, Scarlett, although she has a
triumphant spirit, is defeated by many circumstances, some of her own
      devising.

Tailoring quests to fit some of our newbies' backgrounds and personas
worked out well, but we also have a significant amount of people who
would like to participate but aren't really into the combat aspect of
    the game.

    --
I am one of those people who like to participate, but not in the
combat aspect of the game. Since the Cavalry is not allowed on the
field of battle in the first place, I couldn't be involved in combat
anyway, even if I wanted to, which I don't.

With regard to atmosphere, from the perspective of non-combat
participation, here's what I have found greatly enjoyable.

    1. Arts and Sciences:
    * Bardic - great Bardics at both CRW V and ShadowMist's last
MidReign. Whether it is performing a capella, with instruments, or
with a portable stereo, music makes everything better!
    * Garb - Ebay is great, Ross's is great, and I'm relearning the use
of my sewing machine. I even designed and made native costume for
Mirage (the white Egyptian Arabian mare) from scratch. My sister in
law, Eek (Erica), and I enjoy doing garb related things together. She
is the Co Moderator of the Clothier's Guild yahoo egroup.
    * Roleplaying I enjoy being in High Persona, the enormous amounts of
research I put into each Persona, and RP through IC writing,
especially with other wonderful peoples who know who you are .

    2. Family Time
My original reason for rejoining the HFS after an absence of a decade
was to combine all the things I love, the music, the writing, the
live roleplaying, the garb, and the many marvelous friends, with
family time (macaw and horses time). We always enjoy our Sundays at
Drandmir. We have particularly enjoyed the ShadowMist MidReign, where
Kim and I reeved the Obstacle Course Battlegame from horseback, and
where Arthur loved holding Court and having adoration lavished upon
him. We also really enjoyed the rides we gave at CRW V, up and down
    the mountainside.

I am now the proud owner of just over 3 acres,6 miles west of
Rockdale on Highway 79, replete with two wide open areas and shade
trees both. In future, I am considering hosting small HFS mini-
events. I am also considering having an HFS event for my birthday in
June at Birch Creek/Lake Somerville. Anyone interested?

    Just my due lire.

May the Sun shine warmly upon your face
May the Rains fall softly upon your fields
