    Taurus
    Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
Sex and romance should be very much on your mind today, dear Taurus.
If you are currently involved, you'll want to plan a romantic evening
with that special someone in your life. If not, you might find
yourself attracting more appreciative glances than usual! An old
friend might suddenly appear in a different light. On the downside:
This is not a good day to make investments or any major purchases. If
you do, you probably won't get the results you want.

    Gemini
    Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
A minor conflict between responsibilities toward work and towards
family, particularly romantic partners, might arise today, and could
cause some tension. Be careful, dear Gemini, not to let your
attitudes swing with your mood. Try to be consistent, for this could
only exacerbate frustrations between you and your mate. Your ability
to compromise, however, is operating at a very high level today, and
therefore you can find a solution. Make the most of it!

Jen called last nite--her temp job is boring. She has an interview
tomorrow that she's not interested in. Ah well.

She says I should tell A some spiel about how Tom isn't sure if he
is going, and I have alot of errands to run that morning, not sure
exactly when I'll be leaving, bla bla, and "I wouldn't want to
inconvenience you, so why don't we just meet there?" I didn't make up
stuff but I did end up suggesting that we just meet there.

      Hi Mom!

Sorry it's taken so long for me to write to you—life's been pretty
quiet around here. We had some voluntary Overtime at work, and all my
coworkers were trying to milk it by staying more hours but wasting a
lot of time chatting and goofing, but I worked my butt off and now
we're caught up. Haha. I managed to screw `em without doing anything
      wrong. Win-win.

Thank you for all the little goodies you've been sending. I liked the
little funky button/beads & the hedgie beads are great. I need to get
my work room clean & organized so I can do some bead projects.

The city finally finished our backyard, so I need to get back there
and weed-whack, etc. They took away 4 or 5 of our trees, and of the 3
they left us, one died. I think too many of its roots were destroyed
by the construction & it died of shock. One of Tom's fellow VW-club
people is a landscaper, so we are going to talk with him about
cutting it down, now that the weather is getting cooler & you can
spend time outside without getting heatstroke.

We went to the discount movies with Alex on Friday—he wanted to see
Attack of the Clones again. The action scenes & special effects were
good, and I loved the costumes, but the love scenes were so
embarrassing. It was only the 2nd time I'd seen it, but I don't think
I'll want to see it again.

Saturday, I just wandered around town. There's a shop called the
Arabic Bazaar that was having its first anniversary party. Free
bellydance lessons & all kinds of sweets. I wish they'd had Turkish
coffee. Anyhoo..it was a nice shop. I hadn't been in before. Austin
seems to be experiencing a lot of interest in Middle Eastern culture.
There are a couple of restaurants that have opened up, there was a
big middle eastern themed party at one of the clubs, with food and
dancing and stuff. Café Mundi has been hosting a wonderful
bellydancer named Z Helene (you'd like her—she is so smart & tough &
beautiful. She is so strong and such a wonderful dancer. She also
teaches Yoga. She reminds me of you.) I wonder if the interest in
Middle Eastern culture is a nationwide phenomena or just an Austin
      thing. I think it's really interesting/refreshing that everyone isn't
hating everything that comes from the Middle East and being totally
      irrational.

The thing with Iraq just makes me sick. It's like if Canada or
someone started making announcements that George Bush is evil and
needs to surrender. No citizen or group of citizens has the power to
capture him and turn him over to Canada's agents, but yet Canada is
going to come bomb MY house because my leader is corrupt. It just
makes me so sick and sad. And it's a total no-win situation. Bush is
going to destroy Iraq no matter what they do or say. If someone
backed me into a corner like that, I'd fight, too.

Anyway…that was a lovely tangent. I'm glad your kids are sensible &
      peaceful. Hope for the future.

I think public schools are far more into teaching kids to toe the
party line, be patriotic, don't ask questions. Here in TX we are now
spending 19 weeks a year preparing the kids for standardized tests.
So they test well. Do they know anything? Are they critical thinkers?
Do they understand history and what impact the past has on the
      present? Probably not.

Anyhoo…I just wanted to write. You've been writing so many great
letters & stuff, I feel bad for not writing as often.

I love you & I'm glad you're doing well in NM. I hope the dust
situation gets better—it's a hassle to have to work around a headache
      every day.
