But the family I started with...can't do anything about them, and we're stuck together for this life. Just realizing that 'stuck together' isn't so much about the 'together' so much as the 'stuck'
If any family member needs something, I'm not going to let them starve or be homeless...but I'm not going to lie to myself and say that there's emotional closeness if there isn't, and I am finally to a point where I don't want something that isn't there and isn't ever going to BE there. I accept my stepbrother for the lying sneaky weasel that he is, and I don't need him to be any other way. :)
