Did you hear mom's latest? She quit at the school. I'm
kind of glad about that, it seems that the brothers
running the place are lazy jerks & put too much
responsobility on her & took advantage of her good
nature.
But...I'm kind of pissed about her next plan of
action, going to San Antonio to wait on the Rubber Pig
hand and foot and help with the baby.
That's just so unfair to G.[stepdad]. And I guess Mom is
thinking that if she's there to help with the kids,
[brother A] will go work and rubber_pig will get a job after the
baby's born...but I think you and I know different.
Things with the school were not great, and I'm glad
she didn't let them use her anymore, BUT it's no
better to be used by family than it is to be used by
stranger jerk priests, and at least the Catholics paid
her.
I hate to say it's like Nanny all over again, but I
really do feel like it's similar: ignore the daughters
and bow and scrape and DO for the irresponsible son.

No, I didn't hear about this. When is her last day? What is she
doing about her stuff? Will G. come with a U-haul? How did you
find this out?

Mom called me on Friday. It sounded like the plan is
for G to help her get moved back to Greencastle
over the Thanksgiving break. And then sometime after
Thanksgiving & before Xmas, she's going to go to San
Antonio to 'help with the baby.' Luckily she will have
her own transportation & access to her own money, so
that when she finally gets tired of fetching and
carrying for the drama-junkie ingrate(s), she can come
to Austin, rest up, and then go back to Greencastle,
or work on finding another school that won't take such
advantage of her good nature & hard work.
You can't tell her anything to save her the trouble &
misery...she's just going to have to learn it on her
own. I guess that's where [brother A] gets that from.

She should come after Christmas since G was counting on having her
for the holiday. It is really hard to escape your upbringing. Mom's
side of the family did have the mind set that boys were better and
ingrained it in her. Mom's given name was really Archie Elise since
Grandpa wasn't sure after getting two girls that he would ever get a
son. After all K/[mom] has said about Mom's and [uncle Bubba]'s relationship,
she seems to be reinventing history. We just need to support her the
best we can. I love you! [aunt L]

I know. It's just very hurtful & feels all Prodigal
Son & stuff...I can't see Mom ditching her career for
me or [sister H] like that.
But, I do hope she stays with G for the holidays.
He is so loving & supportive of her, and I don't think
he shows how much he needs/wants her around.
You're right. We'll be supportive & do our best with a
bad situation. And this isn't the baby's fault, it
needs all the help it can get.
