1495weekend, dreams, thoughts on journaling
Jun. 23, 2003
I had a very restful, fun weekend. Rio came up Saturday, we had
lunch, then she napped at her hotel room & I went and hung out with
HFS folks for a while--this really adorable British guy was out at
the park & we talked politics & economics & other such things. It was
kind of refreshing to talk about 'smart' stuff, to remember that I am
pretty well educated & well-informed on things like that. Not that I
really enjoy talking about stuff like that normally, cuz it pisses me
off, but the guy had a great accent...so I could have sat there and
discussed pretty much anything and found it enjoyable.
Skye_DS, Sonar0m, Terwin, Kim & the two feebs (Bob & Phyllis) went to a
wedding somewhere in s. austin. Skye_DS invited me, but since I didn't
know the bride & groom, I didn't go. I kinda wanted to see Sunshine
in a kilt...but I don't go where I'm not invited.
I picked up Rio around 8:30 and we went downtown, walked up & down
6th, got dinner at this little Vietnamese/Thai place and then went to
Elysium. I was worried that she would be disappointed at how kind of
run-down and rinky-dink it is, but she said it reminded her of
Changes, a club in SA that she & D used to go to all the time. So
she liked it. We got shots of Absente and Rio didn't like hers, so I
drank it. She danced a bit, I didn't. I think that might have
disappointed her, but I just didn't really feel like dancing. Lee's
ex friend Greg was there, looking like an Anne Rice vampire. Rio said
D would totally jump on him. I guess we'll have to bring her out one
night once she's back in town.
It was fun to people-watch and listen to all the great
gothic/industrial music they were playing.
I dreamt about Jackdagger from diaryland on Saturday--something about
living in a tree house with the 3 fairy godmothers from Sleeping
Beauty, and then he & I were making out. Funny how even in dreams, I
never go all the way unless it's with my sweetie ;) I probably dreamt
about him because of seeing all the hot young men in black dancing at
the club. *sigh*
I dreamt about J-Law last night--Mom, [brother A], and I were in SF and we
went into her building looking for her. The receptionist wouldn't
pay any attention to us, so we just walked past and started looking
into all these cubicles & conference rooms until we found J-Law. She
was so happy to see us :) It was a good dream.
=====
Realized that my diaryland and livejournal are now tailored to my
audiences, that I'm not writing in them for ME anymore, and that I'm
not writing in this private journal much at all as a way of making up
for all the non-public thoughts I have.
Sad.
Got a creepy email from someone (I guess) who is on the poly lists
about the picnic on friday. I hate that.

Hello evilE:
You have lunch at the capitol, and was thinking my wife and I
could join you. We have been looking for a way to have a small
introduction to the local austin poly community. I do not know
how you feel about it, but I thought it might be a good suggestion.
Thanks.

To be real honest, I don't know how many of the Austin
Polys will be out there. A few people said they
'might' but nobody showed up this past Friday. So it
probably isn't a good way to meet anybody but me.
So...you'll most likely be disappointed.
But, you're more than welcome to join me anyway. I'll
be out there on the 27th between 11:30-12:30. I'll be
in blue jeans and a light green polo-style shirt.
Probably carrying a pink parasol and a brown & white
igloo lunch pail.
There is free parking in the capitol visitors lot in
the blocks between 12th-13th streets (east & west) and
Trinity & San Jacinto (north & south) Streets. I
believe the parking is free for the first 2 hours &
.75 an hour after that.
