Unfortunately, narcissists are not known for having any degree of self control. They will often circle back to old targets if they are bored, lonely, or feeling rejected or neglected by their current sources of supply. As long as you keep feeding them, picking up the phone, answering emails & texts, they will keep coming around like old mangey strays.
As difficult and hurtful as it may be, it’s going to be up to you to maintain strong boundaries and keep the No Contact wall in place—do not respond to emails, phone calls, texts, letters, or any other attempts to suck you back in.
You may feel tempted to try and ‘cash in’ on their newfound success, but honestly whatever material objects would be gained from such an association would be more than paid for in your own emotional labor, torment and tears. Your peace and self-esteem are worth more than whatever you might get from trying to have a relationship with such a person.
Move on, let your heart heal, and give your gifts of time and energy and presence to someone who is worth it, and who is able to give you the same in return. Relationships with narcissists are one-sided and draining. Not worth it, for any amount of fame or wealth.
